dumb question from an outside fan: prior to last season, was Wabash and DePauw ever in the same conference? It seems odd that two long-time rival teams were from two different conferences all these years.

Excellent question.  Wabash and DePauw were charter members of the Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference back in 1987.  The two were conference rivals for 12 years until DePauw left the ICAC for the SCAC in 1999 for reasons that only Bob Bottoms fully understand.

As I'm sure you've read, DePauw will be joining Wabash in the NCAC next year, with football affiliation coming the following year in 2012...which is a terrific move for all parties involved.

what about prior to 1987?

Does the Monon railroad connect the two schools?

I can't speak for DePauw, but prior to the ICAC, I don't believe Wabash was affiliated with a conference.

And yes, the Monon RR serviced both colleges back in the day.

One other thing that has serviced both colleges throughout the years are DePauw women. Ha!

What a way to go out for the seniors, and Yoder in particular.  Well done men!

If not for the kneel-downs at the end of the game Wabash would have put 500 total yards on DPU.  Wow.

Wes & DPU - respect the heck out of you...... tough game for your Tigers, but you were wrong.

Breck - Your a total idiot.... swallow that on the flight back to Denver.

How bad was the Southern Athletic Conference this year?

This Wabash team deserves a pool C.  Today proves that.

Dream Bell Game..... since the 50's we have not seen what we saw today.

more later... much more.

Happy Monon you stupid Cavemen. I hate you more than I ever hated anything in my entire life. I'd rather be dead than Wabash red.

Safe drive home Wes.  Not good to hate.  ;)

It looks like dabash doesn't want to say something that will come back and nip them in the ass.  As a friend emailed me, "I guess when you lose a couple of games and you are not going to the playoffs, it makes you want to dress in red and spoon instead of hammering out some indefensible bulls**t."

Breck - You have officially been confirmed and idiot. Officially.

Enjoy your peanuts on your flight.  Don't forget to swallow.  Wouldn't want you to choke...

Way to say it BashBro! It was a totally satisfactory afternoon. Congratulations to the seniors-kudos to the defense--ALL of them!   I trust that old Breckenridge was leading the march down the railroad tracks in the middle of the third quarter, as reported by Terry on the radio-- on his way back to sulk in his lair until he emerges in October to crack up his tasteless slander machine! for his benefit the boyzz prevail    WAF
