I raise my glass to that which is always better then when the ugly light comes on in Ithaca as it's highly likely that you've been hitting on and buying drinks for an Ithaca Alum named Christine who you realize has an adam's apple.

That is quite a sentence.  Google "punctuation" and come on back.

I feel like this game will be very low scoring. IC doesn't have a big play offense, and Cortland's got a stingy defense, but the Red Dragon passing offense strikes me as mostly being one-note (Giuliano). I didn't realize that Autera was their 2nd leading receiver.

The Bombers run defense will face a major test, because Autera is really good, and after what happened last week against Alfred...ye gods. But I wonder if the Bombers will be able to stack the line a bit more against Cortland and commit to defending the run. Conti and White aren't exactly shutdown corners, but if one of them can hold their own against Giuiliano, I think they can keep the others (Burgess it looks like) from having big games.

What's Cortland's secondary like? The Bombers have three pretty solid pass-catchers. Lopez looks like he's really talented, is Romano the other guy? Are they safeties are corners?

One really interesting stat that does not bode well for IC: Cortland has 9 blocked kicks this season, Ithaca has none. Seriously, what happened to the Bombers special teams this season? No blocks, no return TD's, snaps sailing over punters' heads on a weekly basis. IC's special teams used to be a major strength. Now, it's a major weakness

Andre Jamison will have a return TD this week. You heard it here first.

Cortland secondary is opportunistic and has 19 picks on the season.  Lopez and Romano corners.   there may be some yardage to be had in the middle of the field but Zappia can't make a mistake.  LBers are very quick.

Lol. Jamison's hype to production ratio is insanely out of wack. If he's as talented and exciting as people claim, he'd have more than five touches considering this team has struggled to make plays on offense all season. He catches a 43-yard TD pass against Hartwick and hasn't caught one since. Either the coaches are being negligent or they know something we don't

How do you all think IC will do against Cortlands take on the wildcat?  Guiliano proved to be not only a threat to run effectively out of it but also threw an outstanding ball for a TD out of it.  He was a QB at Westlake HS near where I live.  Actually looked at the team rosters and there are two Westlake players, Giuliano and Gruber on CState and one, Carter playing for the Bombers.  Must be interesting to face an old teammate at Cortaca.  Given 52 years now, there must have been other instances.  Anyone recall any?

Not sure about HS teammates, but I have a feeling the wildcat is not the best way to exploit IC's defense after we've stifled the triple option for many years now....

Pretty sure I read a comment by someone that was very true.  Autera is good but the O line is a weak spot.  The loss of Pitcher from the line was big.  Autera's big plays I don't believe have been through giant holes opened by the line.  Most that I recall, he broke or avoided a one on one tackle to get to the second level and beyond.  Guess it's good that he is able to exploit small creases but he would be really outstanding with a more experienced line in front of him.

I agree, the loss of Pitcher on the line hurt.  Castro had to move to tackle and is out of position and we are weaker at the RG spot.  Autera is dangerous at anytime but particularly if he can get to the second level.

We have given up more sacks, QB efficiency has dropped and with the exception of Morrisville, Autera's yards have been harder to come by since the shuffling of the OL.  It is easy to point the finger at the OL but we have to recognize that Autera is not a secret anymore.

That being said, I like Cortland's chances against an Ithaca D better than I like Ithaca's chances against a Cortland D but I am biased and proud of it.

I don't blame you...I like your D more too. That's why it's so critical to keep it low scoring. If we can hold you to 14-17 points, maybe we can break a big play, get a turnover to set up a short field. But if you guys get it into the upper 20's low 30's, we're in trouble

I think it's going to be tough, but Giuliano and Autera can break anything. That being said, to sort of echo Max's comments, IC's linebackers are really fast and talented, and I think they're much better against the run than the pass, so I think we can contain it
