So for some reason Pete Ittersagen, easily the second best player on his defense during his career at Wheaton, made the first team for your "all-decade" team. Granted he currently plays for the Tennessee Titans and deserves to be there due to his prowess as a punt returner in addition to his defensive ability. However, the fact that Ittersagen is listed on the first team and Andy Studebaker's name is not listed anywhere is a joke. Studebaker was by far the best player on that defense, routinely breaking through double and triple teams and was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles a pick ahead of another first teamer Pierre Garcon. The guy is a freak athlete who missed a year due to injury but ask anyone who watched any of those games and it was not hard to see who the best player on the field was. It was most definitely Studebaker...go watch the highlights of his ONE NFL start...

Sherlock, you might want to get a heads-up from Watson. ;)

Andy was named to the second team.

If you still want to protest the unfairness of it all, at least recognize he was not entirely omitted. ;D

definitely missed the click here for full list link....

also while i take the initial frustration down a few levels, it still does not change the fact that its a little backwards...

The contributions in future events do not necessarily have to dictate the assessments of their contributions during their times in D-3.

Not every great Division III player has an NFL body, either, and it was a long decade. There were a lot of good players.

Pat, why wasn't Jamal Robertson (Ohio Northern) on the All decade team.

My guess is...

From the Article:
QuoteTo be eligible, a player had to graduate in that span (2000-2009) or play the majority of his career then.

Jamal played the majority of his career in the 1990s (97-99).  Only one year in the "span" 2000.

how about Roy Hampton?

He was too busy hanging out at the River Walk to be bothered with this team.

+1!

If Hampton had beaten MUC, then the voters would have had to consider his career very seriously!

Arth never beat Mount...he had a lot more opportunities than Hampton (2 in one year!)...and he played in those games!

Kira & Jaxon's Dad

Arth did play for the Colts.  Came close to beating MTU in 1999.  Lost 57-51 in Triple OT.  Probably one of the best OAC games in the past 20 years.

Jamal Robertson was eligible, but he just wasn't one of the eight best. Great post-D3 career, though!

Similarly, Hampton had a great career but he wasn't one of the four best quarterbacks in Division III in that span.

Said it before and I'll say it again. where was Chris Warrick in all of this? I think he was overlooked, and shouldve been placed somewhere. Hes got more passing yards with 10,542 than all those guys. And only Brett Elliot has more touchdown passes. Other than that a great job.

Pat Coleman

If we were going simply on raw number of passing yards, there's a guy named Vogelbach at Guilford who trumps.

You pretty much had to be a two-time All-American to even get in the discussion, or have a really compelling reason why you should be on the list otherwise. Warrick did enter the season 22nd all-time in Division III and he was 16th among players eligible for All-Decade consideration in passing yards.
