NYC Tech informed the NCAA that it is withdrawing its membership. Thus, the institution will no longer be considered an NCAA member as of the 2011-12 academic year.

What you basically have in your post is an advertisement?

The story that you link from the NCAA was 3 days old when you linked it.  Here is the NCAA link that you reference.

The NYC Tech story was on the front page on July 21, 2011, ten days ago.

Why don't you buy advertising space like everyone else, so that it will defray the cost of the bandwidth and hosting expenses?

Ralphie boy...check my site, I notified someone at this site that I would post a logo and a link back to this site, even on my non D3 pages...in thanks for allowing us to particpate...if I am asked not to post on this iste in the future I can do that too...

also the 4 day old release was not on this site and I did look before posting...you had to go to my site to find the NCAA release and info...

as for the NYC Tech story on this site, it said they were dropping athletics and looking at intramurals, read the NCAA release, there is more to the story than that, plus the Centenary membership update...

The plethora of posts that you have started have historically been posted on the Future of D-III board.

To bring news stories to our attention, you have two basic options.

Post the URL to the original article on one of the message boards, such as the Future of the D-III boards, or

post the link to your website and drive hits on your consulting business' website to drive your numbers.

Your actions are as blatant as I can remember in the last 10 years.  You are trying to piggyback on the success of Pat Coleman's hard work.

Ralphie boy...are you in charge of this site? Do you have the final say?  I would be happy to stop posting and I will also remove all of the info on our site of this site...all I get is grief anyway. I don't have to post the original link, you go to my site and do it...

Sure I like people to use our site, you can even find some info about Birmingham Southern and how they feel about this move to D3...

You think I get rich from having my site, then you have no clue...sure I make enough to cover my initial costs, I only pay $35 a year for my domain, if that makes you feel better.  I could have a message board on my site, I don't because I am not in competition with folks who allow me to post our info.

Besides you never even replied to issues about the release, NYC Tech is leaving D3, no where have I seen on the Tech site they are stopping athletics, they could be, but there is nothing show that.  I have forwarded them for info.  So put on your big boy pants and enjoy life...

Like I said, if they want me not to post on this site..tell me I'm off, not worth fighting with people like you..

davie boy,

I'm sorry your girlfriend has a headache tonight, but don't take it out on us. :-*

I've been to your site.  It makes no sense.  Much like you.

I doubt many people will miss you.

Gray Fox...

go look what Ralphie boy did with the 4 day old release as soon as he saw it...

as I said if I am asked to leave, I will, no problem, but Ralphie boy is just another poster...

I don't see the difference between "dropping athletics, looking at intramurals and coming back as a juco" and "withdrawing from the NCAA." Seems pretty similar, except I did the original reporting, long before anyone else had it.

Radiodavel,

I don't have a dog in this fight... but from a fan's standpoint, it doesn't help me for you to link to your site... and not to the story... especially when your link goes to a generic page, not even to the story itself, or commentary on your site about it.

It would be like posting this:

Debt crisis soon to be over!  Check it out on mywebsite.com!

... and then I just link to a cnn story.

If you want to put your website URL in your signature, then I think you can do that.  But don't simply tease and force everyone to go to your site for the information... especially when the info isn't actually ON your website (just the link).

There are plenty of instances (like Knightslappy's blog) where the bulk of the info that he has is cross posted on his site and here.  That's completely above board

And he creates the content that he links to... he isn't just a glorified feed reader who is trying to collect extra hits on his site.

I phoned them. Sometimes reporting requires phone calls.

Dave -- not sure why you started the name-calling on this topic. Was it necessary?

And I guess I would say one last thing in locking this topic up -- if you're unfamiliar with the concept of the D3boards.com Hall of Famer and their influence on the board, it's because you don't really participate on the board as a whole. You come in, drop your links, and leave. If you were more of a participant, you'd understand the dynamic a little better.
