As someone who sees them often, this is about as good as Cortland could play defensively. I am surprised at the low score. Linfield's defense is also playing really well outside of the long pass. Even if it's only a half, it's a good showing for the Empire 8 conference, which was a jumbled mess this year with so many teams vying to win the title.

nope---we've just been shooting ourselves in the foot---bad snaps, fumbles, stupid penalties.

Cortland had one really big play for the TD and our D has otherwise been solid (except for some penalties to extend drives).  Offense needs to finish drives and we'll be fine.
Go Cats!

No, they're not that good.. but our receivers don't get separation vs man so the only place to throw is to our backs.
I'm frustrated with our kicker.

Frustrated that a d3 kicker can't make a 49-yarder?

pg04

Kicking is bad across the nation and across levels. But yeah I wouldn't be too mad at him. It seemed like there were a couple more seconds that Linfield could have had (that could have led to more yards) with more awareness in the final drive. I'd be more mad at that.

That particular kicks was on the verge of being long but he's missed a few too many for our taste this year.

Gotcha. I can see how that gets increasingly more scary as the rounds go on.

Cats D is playing their game (with one over the top pass that was maybe credit to Cortland, or just one mistake by us).
Cats O in my mind did not have any games to really test or prove them yet this year.  This is the first one.  Time to make some adjustments and step up at half.

He can make it... that would have been good from 55.   He's having a down year compared to what he's capable of... thus my frustration.

I still don't feel like they are really getting tested that much by Cortland but are just not executing consistently---I think if they get good snaps and hold onto the ball then they will roll--also Sam missing those two plays on 3rd and 4th and short didn't help.
Go Cats!

MonroviaCat

Does Sam have 2 kids now?  Or is that must more Bill Johnson non-sense?
Go Cats!

CATS D holds only to have another stupid penalty (chucking the QB after the ball was away))just stupid.
Go Cats!
