I don't think that heat got to you fellows your last trip to Texas.
I'll take your word for it.
Since projections are fun, would you fly to a second round game in McMinnville or gamble for Belton again?

I can't afford to fly for the playoffs (last minute tickets, missing a day of work, etc....).  So I'll pray for a decent live feed.

I think they should send MUC to Belton in the second round.

That would be a travesty.  But UMU to UMHB in the semis would not shock me at all.  (Though since they made it officially a part of the criteria that last year's playoff results can be used in seeding undefeated teams, I suppose defending-champ UMU will once again play all their games at home before going to their 'second home' in Salem. ::))

You've just outlined why it wouldn't be a travesty. UMU has been coddled for years.....

D O.C.

bluebird bluenote is not so out of it if the NCAA's guiding light is $$. The gate receipts in Belton would be much more than Alliance.
UMU has that 1 non-conference game. If bluenote thinks they aren't trying hard enough to schedule a tough opponent I cannot say. Having scheduled UWW back in the day was good for all.
I would venture there an open invite to home and home with LINFIELD. I don't have any idea how far out they schedule that 1 game.
MCat...I chose not to go to Belton or homecoming so that I might attend an exotic game if everything plays out in my favor.

UMU and UMHB meeting in the SECOND round would be the travesty (for BOTH schools), regardless of where the game was played.

By the criteria agreed upon by member schools (NOT bureaucrats at the NCAA), UMU has not been coddled - they have just played games where the criteria said they should.  And there have been at least two/three years where they would have gone on the road before Salem except that the designated host forgot to win some earlier game! ::)

As a fan of a different school (and conference) in the North Region, I am by no means a Mount apologist.  I'm sick and tired of them always winning as well.  But I don't like UNFAIR criticisms of them even more.

This is not a criticism of MUC.  I dislike the system, whomever agreed to it.  Home field advantage is huge, probably even more so in lower divisions like d3.  I don't know what it is but when I played, NAIA, the team that got the 3 home games for the playoffs typically won.  I was a beneficiary of that, and on the visiting side one year.

That being said, given that d3 is supposed to be, at least somewhat, a different breed of sports, I think that a rotating basis for hosting would embody the d3 spirit.  And the WORST criteria possible, in my mind, use is last years results, that only serves to make the strong stronger.

No offense intended to you.

Maybe it would be more of a travesty for Hardin Simmons to play in Belton in the 1st round.....For as long as I remember UMU has been coddled. When have they ever played a playoff game on the road even in the semi's? Just curious....?

And on top of that.... I can't remember when UMU hasn't had the easiest/weakest playoff bracket.... fill me in on that one too....

That seems to be an issue of correlation vs. causation. Does the team win in the playoffs because they are at home? Or does the eventual winner play at home because they are the better team with a better resume?

Am I missing some information again?
How come the east coast games are way underway at 9:30 am on the west coast?

MonroviaCat is still eating pancakes. Don't choke, but get on that, will ya?

well, ya see, there is a 3 hour time difference DOC. So if the game starts at noon over there, it would start at 9:00 here.   ??? ;) ;D ???  No pancakes today==just cereal and nice bike ride--great weather today, no?
