... ~16 conference champs that would get worked over in the MIAC!

Truth be told, this illustrated just how far the gap between SJU/Bethel and the rest of the MIAC is.

It's huge.  If BU isn't selected into the post-season because they had to play the Johnnies twice then they are easily the strongest team to not get selected in a long time that I can think of.

Pretty good call by Boz on his FB page.

If it comes down to a last second field goal to Beat the Baptists in the conference championship game tomorrow, I'd bet the house on the Johnnies and their kicker, Conor Pavelko.
The freshman accounting major from South Dakota was an All-State kicker in high school and had a variety of offers from different colleges. He ultimately chose Saint John's because of family connections. His dad is a Johnnie and has brought Conor to campus many times. "Saint John's feels like home," Conor told me. "Football is great. I love the campus location. Everyone is welcoming and friendly. All my professors are awesome."
Conor finished top 3 in my class on Exam 1, and he noticed how I gave the top student a free accounting shirt. When we took orders for shirts a month ago, one of his buddies asked him if he was getting one. Conor said with confidence, "No. I'm getting a free one by getting the high score on Exam 2."
I handed back exam 2 today, and Conor was indeed the high score - the only student to get 100%. He nailed the exam, just like he will nail the game winning field goal tomorrow if it comes to that.
Skills, confidence, work-ethic, and a great personality. He's going to excel during his four years at Saint John's and then continue to make us proud for decades to come as an alum.

The divisions are total bull!! And the selection committee better let Bethel in as opposed to ~16 conference champs that would get worked over in the MIAC!

I agree - hope they get rid of the divisions. But I won't be surprised if the selection committee leaves Bethel out just because they have 2 losses. It would be a shame if Bethel doesn't get in though.

Oz,
Do you have Mollydooker or Chook on ice for the dance?

I do not, but you give me a good idea...

I'd sure like to know what the deal was when Bethel was going to fake punt and got a delay of game penalty and then they still tried the fake punt. I'm guessing it was the long snapper who messed up as I'm sure they wouldn't have tried the fake punt 2 plays in a row, especially after backing up 5 yards. I realize SJU didn't score right  after that but it changed field position and could have had an impact on the rest of the game.

That was a poser

SJU13

There's a lot of talk on the playoff prediction board about Hardin-Simmons and Wheaton potentially not getting in. Bethel, even with 2 loses, appears to be in that on the cusp discussion. Will be interesting to see how people feel about top 15 teams not making it in.

I don't see how you leave Wheaton out.

Duff is right about the competition in the MIAC. Surprising to see Concordia drop off this season, but Gustavus & Carleton certainly appear to be improving. Is the playoff selection/seeding tomorrow?

Wow.
I left the live stats early.
Congrats Champs

There's still a chance you can make it to McMinnville for November rain, isn't there?

No, I don't think so.

I think it was called that way, based on my memory of the reaction of the other players.  Johnson rolled the dice one time too many.

Just home from Bethel.  It was interesting reading all your in-game comments.  Oh yee of little faith!

Johnnie Magictm is alive and well.  Hope we have more left for the playoffs.

Johnson rolled the dice one time too many.

Nothing out of the ordinary for Johnson.  He's pulled some real head-scratchers in big games throughout the years.

I should have said one time too many, again,
