Isn't that sad, though, for SJU, "We kept the game close until near the end."
Never thought I would hear that, except when playing Mount or UWW.

You beat me to it.  Never thought I'd hear that from a Johnnie.

Hang in there, fellahs, this too shall pass.

Anyone at the UST game today?

Was this a little bit of an emotional let down for the Tommies after the Holy Grail or did Augsburg just play some inspired football for most of this game?

And check out the numbers Mike Zweifel is putting up at WR for Dubuque this year. His career numbers were already crazy, but he is going to uncharted places right now. 18 for 259 and 2 TD's today. And those are remarkably different from some other games he's had this year (e.g. v. Central).

Pat Coleman

Don't know about the emotion necessarily but Augsburg moved the chains on occasion, made a couple mistakes in the red zone. Defensively they strung out the line well and UST couldn't get much around the outside. But they kept pounding it up the middle and eventually they got yardage in chunks.

Ironically, on the last drive, with the starting offensive line and Tracy but backups at the receiver and running back positions, St. Thomas looked good.

The Tommies also apparently respected the Augsburg secondary, rarely throwing deep.

Cobbers versus Augsburg: Concordia keeps Auggie defense guessing on a brilliant drive. 7-0 Cobbers midway through the first Q.
If the human brain were so simple that we could fully understand it...we would be so simple that we couldn't.

Might be typing to the wind here, but Cobbers stop Auggie at the 5 with a fumble recovery. 7-3 Cobbers.

With a drive mostly on the (full)back of Brett Baune, Cobbers cap it with a 19-yd TD pass to go up 14-3. Nice 98-yard drive!

Keep it coming CH

Bethel up 20-10 against GAC

Augsburg takes big chunks of field on some pass plays, but get stopped inside the 10 again. 14-6, Cobberus up with the ball nearing halftime.

Cobbers drive the field in under 2 minutes, up 21-6 with 10 seconds left in the half.

Plenty of action in Moorhead, but I've been away from the computer. Early the 4th, it's 31-13 Concordia. That conference play opening OT loss to the Johnnies is really stinging now. Well, it has been all along, but you know what I mean. >:(

Auggies answer quickly. 2pt conversion fails. 31-19 Cobbers up with about 11:00 to go. What's up with the tie score in St. Peter?

It's 34 - 20 Bethel.

Ouch! Augsburg gets a pick and nice return to set up a TD. 31-26 Cobbers with 9 minutes to go. Time to get the maroon and gold to eat clock and move chains...all the way. Gettin' nervous. Cobbers ball at their own 28.

Hazzbeen, I guess my broadcast was a bit behind the action. Your score sounds more reality-based.

Cobbers moving well on the ground again.

Cobbers still grinding it out. Sounds like the Tommies are content with 42-0, and not looking to beat the 9 touchdown spread.
