Cobbers make a couple second half mistakes (costly penalty and turnover), but maintain a 21-14 lead early in the 4th. Not looking too sharp all of the sudden.

Well-done with this game-had a little hope to start second half-but D dashed that.
Not sure the game did anything to figure out the QB situation-but I hope they start the younger QB to get experience.
Obviously the D needs to be re-evaluated tomorrow and next week-get some different guys in there.
But, the MIAC season starts Saturday, so just run the table, this loss doesn't matter.

Bethel puts together a nice drive with their backup freshman qb Peterson. Carr runs it in from 2 yds out.

31 to 9. UST brought 110 guys to River Falls because the NCAA travel restrictions don't apply to non-conference games I guess.

Freshman QB Matt O'Connell is getting some reps. He's playing very freshman like right now. And by freshman-like, I mean bad. Kudos for trying to get as many guys in as possible though.

48 - 0 Bethel. Final

D looked great. Had a couple of drives that were getting momentum, but got TO's when they needed them and were never seriously threatened.

O looked nice as well. A couple of dumb penalties we need to clean up, but we were efficient moving the ball. Hilbrands and Walker looked good receiving. Walker got behind their secondary a few times. His dad was an All-American back in the 70's.

On to conference play! Things should get interesting now...

UST goes up 38 to 15. Freshman RB Ryan Toney getting the bulk of the carries in the second half. Sounds like he'll be the man to spell Tobin this year.
