Is it just me or does UWEC have a tendency of giving up comeback victories to MIAC teams. I know SJU has had a few, Bethel had one in 2003, now UST. weird...

Tommies!!!!!!  Wow...what a game.  If they clean up their mistakes, they've got some great young players.  They showed a lot of heart today.

Gotta think whoever comes out of the MIAC will have one loss-I don't think there is a dominant team right now. Maybe 3 or 4 with a legit shot at the MIAC title.

Well, STO rallied to win at Luther giving the league a 7-0 start. They didn't look very good early, but I switched to UST and missed the rally.

SUMMIT!!!!!

Hello Everyone - It was a great off-season!  Hope everyone's went just as well -

A few personal thoughts about UST's game today - With UWEC returning 9 starters on offense I thought our D played really well - I think we found a capable replacment for our D-tackle who graduated - Valesano might turn out to be a slight drop off from Danna - but fully functional as this is his 5th year......

I think we had alot of positives offensively - I think our QB will be just as good if not better than Tracy - Waldvogel will not be replaced, but I think our receivers collectively are better than last years unit - I'm hoping Ferrazzo will be our next go to guy as he came in clutch on the touchdown pass he caught - Runningback is really a toss up - No RB stood out and they need to learn the fastest way to the endzone is north south!

Hopefully the tommies can build off this win and play just as well as last years team!

Go Tommies!

AnyThoughts?

If I'm Caruso, I'm pissed and slightly pleased.

Pissed because the team made mistakes all over the place, had some bad penalties and didn't execute in the red zone.

Slightly pleased because you just went on the road into a hostile environment against a quality opponent and came out with a W. It was ugly, but it was a W. And because it was ugly you've got every reason to hound your guys all week and all sorts of stuff to coach up. But most of the stuff to coach up is really pretty correctable. Execution issues, silly penalties, etc. This could be a great way to increase the teams focus and you know you've got everyones attention.

Maybe. But what do we really know one week in. UST had a great comeback on the road against a quality WIAC team. Several SJU teams have similarly struggled against UWEC and finished unbeaten in MIAC play (2009, 2005, 2002).

Bethel hasn't even played yet.

SJU rolled NWC, which tells us...not a whole lot. Maybe they are greatly improved, maybe they just rolled a really inferior team.

St. Olaf played Luther closer than we probably expected. Which they do every single year in this rivalry. And they won again.

So I'd agree that there's probably 3-4 teams with a legit shot (they've all technically got one...maybe not Hamline  ;)). But I don't think we can conclude that no one can go undefeated yet. Carnage wouldn't shock me, but neither would one team establishing themselves.
