DeBoer at NT could be really good once he learns the position. Not many freshman come in at 6'5" 315. And he's not fat. He dropped weight last year, and during his first season wrestling won the state heavy weight title.

Long TD run by Knight QB.

Bethel's got their 2nd and 3rd stringers in now. Good to get em some reps and keep the starters healthy

Zip wasn't kidding! TD SJU! If only we had one more quarter!

21-31; coming back-just need a 5th quarter

sfury

Someone explain why Johnnies didn't go for 2 when down 31-13? PAT does nothing. Now they scored again. If they had gone for 2 both times and gotten it, it'd be a one-possession game. It doesn't matter anyway, as Cobbers will kneel down. But still...31-14 does nothing.

Hopefully Martin gets the start next week if Bruns is out.

I'm prophetic. Strip sack by DeBoer...

I would think that somebody with that size if had very good talent would be at D1 or D2 at minimum.  I don't thing one sack is really all that prophetic.  Maybe we should give it a couple seasons first.  Thanks.

Either October 13 or November 6, one of the two will be big.

Bethel's got to take care of business against a currently unbeaten Cobber squad. It's nice to have them at home. Not to mention unbeaten Augsburg next week. I'm hoping no ones forgotten the St. Olaf results from last year!

But should the Cobbers win in Arden Hills next week, they go Hamline, Augsburg, Carleton before they'd play UST. Pretty safe bet they'd face UST unbeaten and ranked at that point.

The biggest concern I've got is how banged up we are at RB right now. Klitzke had a huge day with 15 carries for 168 yds and 3 TD's. Walbilig added 6 for 57 and 3 TD's. But I'd feel better knowing the full complement were a go against Concordia. Hopefully Phenow and Marquardt are healthy and can play.

::) I wonder why you're karma's so low.

The prophetic crack was a joke. I realize 1 sack isn't a big deal. But the kid won a state title in wrestling in his first and only season in the sport. Given the fact the MN has pretty decent HS wrestling, I'm going out on a limb that he's a pretty good athlete.

That, and I know how high the coaches are on him. He's just a very powerful, raw athlete.

Sure, with those numbers you'd think he'd be D1 or D2, but kids slip through the cracks all the time. Hillbrands is 6'6" 205 and has good hands, speed and hops. Doesn't sound DIII either. Considering his HS team went 2-7 last year, it's not that surprising he went unnoticed.

Thanks.  8-)

Did a quick google search and came up with this  article..  It sounds like he developed his athleticism after his senior football season.  Wouldn't be the first kid with d1 talent to play d3.
