BU Faithful

The most needed Bethel defensive adjustment is to generate some offense.  Can't keep the D on the field all day.

Wow-SJU finally playing like the old days.
easy to do vs vastly inferior opponent Zip....the battle is on for 6th place?   :)
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

SUMMIT!!!!!

unoffically, BU has 0 first down, 8 yds rushing and 11 yards passing. talk about suffocating defensive play!

funny thing is I still dont say BU is out of this game. but unless they can generate some offense (and do so quickly) this could turn into a blowout

Ummmm, if you won't say it, I will. Bethel is out of this game.  :'(

There is still a half to play, but 24 is too much ground to make up against this defense.  Have to say UST is playing to their ranking.  If they don't make mistakes (turnovers) they are competitive with the best of DIII.

I wont say it....not yet...call it "Roney hangover" but I trust no lead at half.  But I agree with BUFaithful, if UST continues playing like they have in first half, not only will they win this game but can play with anyone in DIII

OK, so I get that BU needs to get the O going to get back in the game. I also get that the BU defense has been on the field a lot. What bothers me is that BU has had big trouble with the Auggie QB and now the STU QB. Even last week against CC, when the QB went mobile, it seemed like BU had trouble. Does that mean they just have to endure mobile QB's and hope for the best? Or does it mean that BU has a weakness in their defense against that kind of player?

In another thread, STU had a punt that ended up being a long gain for STU because BU mishandled the ball. That kind of - what appears to be inattention - is something I've seen several times in previous games this year. I was always told if you can't field the ball cleanly, get away from the ball. Doesn't look like they're doing that.

Concordia is taking out all its anger on poor Hamline....42-0 in the 3rd

Augs & Oles tied 17-17 at the half

SJU leading big in the Sixthplace Bowl, also at the half

BU has the screen covered. . .

Does that mean they can bring it back to be a game?

1. This D held Concordia to 103 yds rushing and 2.7 yds per carry. WAY below their season averages. Their QB had 17 yds rushing. The D played very well against the Cobbers. 1 Drive for a TD. 1 blown coverage for a score. Held them to 14 points.

2. It's not a scheme thing. It's the fact that Augsburg and UST have very good dual threat quarterbacks. These guys are the two best offensive players in the MIAC right now. And it's probably not close. You can have a great scheme and have guys in position for plays - we've had both today - and a better athlete can still just make a play. THAT is what you see happening. It's not a weakness in the D, it's called playing a great player who can beat you both ways. Hang back against the pass, they pull it down and run. Come up to stop the run and they beat you over the top.

Picked up a couple first downs - Poco O Poco.

No it's not. This is not the first show down of unbeaten MIAC top 10 teams in the D3football poll

2003.

SJU #2 unbeaten

Bethel #10 unbeaten.

Can we stop quoting this stat, UST announcers and Bethel SID. Ok, rant over :-)

Hey-you take positives where you can find them.
Next year 5th, then 4th, etc.

OldAuggie
