How do yards get credit to individual players on an option play when the pitch occurs after the line of scrimmage? SJU's first play was one of these and I'm wondering if Sura gets credit for the full gain or if Martin gets the yards gained up to the pitch.

I have wondered this too, does anyone know this or do I have to use the google?

I looked at the first half play-by-play. Martin was credited with 7 yards rushing, Sura with 6. Based on that it looks like the yards are split based on where the pitch happens. Followup question - what about a hook and ladder? I assume the QB gets credited with all of the receiving yards and the receiver making the original catch gets receiving yards up to the pitch. But what about the runner - are those counted as receiving or rushing yards?

A good topic for the radio crew.  Any know one of the radio guys' number?  Can send a text and ask?
