Do they not have an automatic PAT in college?  Blocked PAT could change the outcome.

I believe they should have attempted the PAT, but if the Johnnies were smart then they would just do a kneel down and not attempt one.

In 2011, Augsburg beat SJU on final play of game, same end zone. To go up 1. About 20-30 minutes later they brought teams out -- 11 from each team at least -- for PAT since a safety could win it. Of course Augsburg just took a knee but they definitely made them do it. Final score? 32-31! Same as today.

QuoteWe both remain on track for a rematch.

Of course, should that happen the 'CATS will pass the hat to get you at the game.

Just made my way through all the in game posts. Both ROR and OZ called on the magic early. Nicely done!

Also, my VOJ audio went to 0 at the half. I switched late to WDGY, and though it was a little out of sync, at least you could get the Play-by-play, and feel the consternation and elation.

Beat Oshkosh -B'gosh!!

True but stranger things could happen.

With a "victory formation" it would be next to impossible to score on a fumbled snap by the QB. Too many bodies adjacent and covering.

Woah---talk about drama---longest last 10 seconds ever capped by the longest TD call (by the REFs)---congrats Johnnies!

We both remain on track for a rematch.  :)

I too am hoping for a Tommies vs. Jonnies 2016II

That's why they should have at least run the play. It is in the rule book that a PAT will be attempted after a td with no time on the clock but only if the point(s) can make a difference. In this case, 2 points for UWP would make a difference. While the odds of it happening are almost 0, you still can't just assume that.

Possibly the UWP coach passed on the play?  Could be he was unaware of the actual rule but the internet would have set him straight before he got too far into the rooms.

Seriously doubt a coach has the option to not run a play. It's up to the officials to know the rules and apply them accordingly.

A little sensitive here?  ??? So that means we can't discuss what should have happened at the end of the game? No one disputing the game is over, but we should be able to discuss things that did or did not happen during the game.

Discuss all you want. When the game is over, I'm too old to whine or gloat(very much). For the same reason I haven't read a post over 6 lines long for several years and have been assured that I haven't missed a thing. I also think it's too big a risk for me to buy green bananas. 8-)
