I took a 9 month sabbatical from Post Patterns. With Gustavo's up UST 13-0 at the half I could not resist. Go Gusties!

It's good to have you back, ROR.

Sabbatical'd Old Rat doesn't roll off the tongue in quite the same way.

GAC learned from SJU that the way to beat UST is to throw the ball all over the yard. Veldman is 16 of 26 for 265 in the 1st half.

UST hasn't been shutout at half since Whitewater shut them out for a full game in the playoffs. I think 2011?

UST interception, decent field position to start.

Stretch is dead.

jamtod

Nevermind. Gustavus picks it off the other way.

It looks like the Tommies decided to wake up.  I think they'll win if they score next.

UST has the ball back in Gustie territory, but backup QB Ronnie Jones is in. He hasn't looked great much of the year.

OzJohnnie

Actually, it looks like Perra has been benched after that last interception.

A few nice runs for Parks. Tommies threatening.

Not sure of the name, but the announcer called a kid for St John's that played high school football at Heelan (the Catholic high school in Sioux City, IA very near where I live!). Heelan's had a very good program historically. Their current head coach had been there prior, but served as an assistant at Morningside (#1 NAIA team) before going back to serve as head coach at Heelan this season.

Gusties hold on 4th and goal from the 10. Still 13-0

St Thomas had a kid from Heelan a few years ago too. I went to a different Catholic high school in the Sioux City diocese, so we didn't have to face Heelan in football but always enjoyed the CYO baseball tournament.
