The kicking game is a bit embarrassing...
High sticking, tripping, slashing, spearing, charging, hooking, fighting, unsportsmanlike conduct, interference, roughing... everything else is just figure skating.  ~Author Unknown

Royals are getting chippy.

19-0, Johnnies.

Cobbers go a quick 70 yards (need I say "on the ground") to put up a TD on the opening drive of the half. 21-14.

The Cobbers have not tried a single passing play.  They are trying to set some sort of record.
I guess that they pass like we kick.

Laugh or cry.  I can't decide.

Get some kid from the soccer team suited up.  It's reaching the desperation point.

Very glad to see Trost back! Alston is looking sharp! I hope Van Erp is alright! We should not go for field goals the rest of the season!!!

...just when you think you've seen (or heard) it all. Cobbers stop the Gusties on downs, but the play is rerun because of a "fan noisemaker" and the Gusties convert. They keep the ball and are threatening. Reminiscent of the game costing "players on the field" penalty at Bethel a few years back. UPDATE: Gusties score. 21-21 early in the 4th.

Weird. Hope that's not the difference maker in the game.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

All kinds of weird stuff going on, but the difference in this game is run versus pass. Gusties just threw a 50-yarder and a 30-yarder to go up 27-21 (PAT failed). At least the Cobbers have nearly 9 minutes!!

I see the Cobbers have attempted (and missed) a single pass attempt, though.  It's getting crazy in Morehead.  :)

Wow!  Alston is having a breakout game.  He's grabbing everything deep now.

Ravi Alston is having himself a game! I'd consider this his coming out party! Future looks bright for him as a Johnnie receiver!

That incomplete pass was fortunate...it could have easily been a safety or an interception. Cobbers offense is stalled now as the Gusties are 8 in the box every play, not even worried about pass or pitchout. Pathetic.

Cobbs intercept. Marching on the 25 with 3:40 remaining but trailing by 6.

Time out with under 2 minutes. Cobbers on the 9.

TD COBBERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PAT to come....
