THE CCS, in which Maryville plays now, does not allow Sunday games, so the move to SAA will mean fewer lost class days. Sort of cancels out the Texas trip issue (except for the money part!) As a MC alum, I like this...the SAA schools are more our peers in several ways.

The preseason D3football.com Top 25 has been released.  Trinity checks in at 13 and Berry 25.

Pretty aggressive ranking for how much Trinity (should have) lost on both sides of the ball.

Pat Coleman

No doubt. It isn't where I voted them and it isn't where Greg Thomas voted them either.

Which means there are some voters who must have put them in the top ten (I know two other voters who didn't rank them that high, either).  I guess some voters didn't pay attention to the small number of returning starters; getting some garbage time play for your twos helps but isn't the same as consistently being in the game when the outcome is in question.

In those voters defense, Trinity and Coach Urban has positioned themselves as one of the better teams in the country, something that usually gets D3 voters attention until proven others. I know I don't need to tell you this but the only teams that have proven they can beat Trinity the last few years are elite programs.

It will be interesting to see where Trinity's offense is without Tucker at the helm.  The SAA could be wide open this year, will probably come down to the Berry/Trinity game.

Welker Horn, you-know-who's younger brother who also is a QB, announced he will enroll at Trinity in 2025.

Looks like he also has great size and a good arm.

You'd think with Tucker's success, if Welker is showing as well as Tucker in high school, that he'd get some attention from higher up the football ladder.

His junior season ended early due to injury, so he wasn't able to really take advantage of an important recruiting year. Decent chance that if he has a great senior year, he'll end up elsewhere.

If I read properly, there are only around 160 9th-12th graders at Welker's school.  Hard to get much traction coming out of a school that size.

Despite the existing offers on the table (including a signed letter of intent with Miles College), BSC is going national in search of a buyer for its campus and facilities.

Here's the listing if you're interested and have many tens of millions sitting around.

Those pictures do a great job at showing just how beautiful the BSC campus is, and that just makes it hurt that much more.  Hopefully they can find a buyer that will continue to care for the property.  Would love for it to continue as a college, but just not sure what that might look like.
