Here is a little talk about the actual game.

Cortland offense averaging 37.9 PPG.
Ithaca Defense averaging 18.7 PPG average.

Ithaca offense averaging 20 PPG.
Cortland defense averaging 21 PPG allowed.

Ithaca's offensive and Cortland's defensive numbers look similiar. The key looks to be what Cortland will do with the ball.  Does IC have anyone who can slow Babin down? Also, I feel like there is always at least one major special teams play at CORTACA. Who has the advantage there? I am not real sold on Corrado.

Personally...I think Ithaca will keep the game close (as they have in pretty much every game all year long) but in order to win the game they will need someone on special teams to make a play.  If Cortland kicks the ball anywhere near Ruffrage...they are fools...

Well, we know that Cortland's coaching staff reads (and occasionally posts on) this board meticulously, so now I'm sure they won't. Thanks a lot Yanks.

I also think this game will be about the matchup between Ithaca's defense and Cortland's offense. Cortland may be averaging around 20 PAPG, but I don't know if they've seen a QB combo as "special" as Ithaca's yet. If more than 35 total points are scored in this game, I'm thinking Cortland wins.

Well, Max, if they've got the Alfred game film, the cat's already out of the bag...  ::)
Don't care how far one can kick it, if it ends up in Ruffrage's hands, it's all for naught.

Does anyone know how much film each team gets of each other?  With these new online video systems, I can only assume each team will get every game that their opponent plays.  (Since it isn't too hard to get the copy from other teams that might have friends, coaches, etc)

Sorry Max, didn't mean to take away the element of surprise on this one...but I am guessing that Cortland knows all about Ruffrage's 26.2 yards per punt return average with two TD's and 28.5 yard per kick return with one TD already.  Not to mention the several close calls.  I was stunned that Alfred even kicked to him in the 4th quarter...

Might as well toss stats out the window when it's Cortaca. Agree a big special teams play or turnover will likely be the deciding factor.

Corrado has been off for sure and it seems that the coaching staff feels the same. I say this based on some decisions to go for it on 4th down when they appear to be within his range. No doubt managing his confidence level given this decisions is critical. Kickers are a different breed of player for sure.

Ithaca, and it's not even a question mark. It's the one thing the Bombers do that gives them any hope of a win

Dan Ruffrage is averaging 26.2 yards a punt return, and 28.6 per kick return, and has three touchdowns.
Cortland's longest punt return is eleven yards, and the longest kick return by a player that's available is 36 yards.

Andrew Rogowski is 8-for-9 on FG's longer than 30 yards, with a long of 43. He's yet to miss an extra point
Corrado's longest this season is 31, and he's missed three XP's

Rogowski is averaging 38.8 yards per punt
Furey is averaging 34.9

Ithaca's coverage units are slightly better. Cortland's blocked more kicks but had more kicks blocked.

No question, Ithaca has the clear edge. Naturally, this means Cortland will win because Ruffrage will fumble the opening kickoff, Rogowski will miss three kicks, and Cortland will hit a 47-yard field goal as time expires

That doesn't surprise me really. While his teams have had meltdowns in the area, Welch has always had Ithaca ahead of the game in returns. I have absolutely no idea why anyone would ever kick to our returners. I've felt this way for years. Ruffrage, Cheir, Crandall, Gordon, Tosh. It's just playing with fire. If I'm Cortland, I'm just going for it on 4th down. It's not like the offense will score on their own...

His comments were more anti-Cortland in nature than pro-Ithaca. While you may view this board as an either-or environment, attempting to impart that view to determine who someone else is "linked to" seems to me to be a bad practice. Timeforachange is a complex guy, not nearly as dichotomous as you've made him out to be here.

Hey Knightstalker. Almost game day and if I recall correctly, as a neutral poster you owe something to Cortland fans on this board unless I missed it?

Dammit.  I missed the entire Cortaca Week?  I'm working too much.  I guess that's because I got a degree from IC.

How is that hemp store that going to Ithaca prepared you for working out?
