Nope... North Central was the team we talked about... pretty sure I would have known if I had North Park on my lips since there was at least one North Central fan listening in to the show and didn't correct me :).

Need to slow down occasionally to get my facts straight - North Central!  Maybe I was secretly wishing to match up with North Park.

Centre will need strong contributions across the board from its young players to have any chance of keeping tonight's 1st round game competitive against strong favorite, North Central.  Donavant Whiteside must come up with a big game for the Colonels. :)

Centre played hard but ran into a buzz saw @ North Central tonight losing their opening round game 66-50.  The physicality, maturity and skill of the North Central team showed why they are #3 in the land.  The Colonels cannot compete effectively when they lose in the shooting game badly like tonight - Centre shot 37% and gave up 50+%.  Centre finishes another solid season with a 21-6 record and most of their team coming back for 2013-14.  Kudos in particular to senior Bryon Ellis for 4 wonderful years of exciting the Centre fans.  I really liked watching Bryon's overall game grow during those years.

Here is an article describing last nights NCC/Centre game according to Centre's HC Greg Mason:

Centre picked up victory #4 against arch rival Transylvania in Lexington tonight 84-75. Josh Karsner had a career night scoring 35 going 10-13 from the field & 10-12 on the line.  He also nailed 5 3-pointers.  Donavan Whiteside provided scoring support with 18.  Colonels head to Thanksgiving with a 4-1 mark, the only blemish being an overtime loss to Franklin on the road.

Wish we might see some other poster on the board for the SAA this season.  The conference begins in earnest this weekend.

I will throw out a question and see if anyone bites; who looks to be the best team in the Southern Athletic Association in 2013-14?

Ralph Turner

Maybe Bob Quillman who is moving to Dallas with his job in the 2-3 months. Maybe he can post on the board.

I definitely hope to!!

The SAA doesn't have a team in Texas, but hopefully Bob will chime in anyway. :)

Partially, my bad!  I should have posted this on the SCAC board as well.

I still have not completely broken the SAA and the SCAC schools apart.

Good one @ Rhodes - in OT now with Oglethorpe leading 63-62.
