OK, I'll bite and ask what I'm sure at least a few others are wondering.

Why does a Merry Christmas and thank you greeting from D3soccer.com contain a link to a religious site that contains within it an invitation to a conversion experience?

And I ask this sincerely as someone who is very appreciative of the site and those who keep the site going, and who has found the journalism in general here first-rate.

I had the same question, but answered it as simply as I could: this is a private site and the owners and administrators can do whatever they wish.  I may not agree with it, but it is what it is and I am not offended by it so that is why I didn't ask.
Everyone is entitled to their own views politically, religiously, or personally, I wouldn't want it any other way.  After all, we have the choice to not visit the site if what is in the site is offensive or clashes with your personal preferences.
I am in no way arguing or disagreeing with you NCAC, I am just giving my own personal explanation that is backed by no research, insight, or fact given by the administration of this site.

It`s the right wing nuts that run this site. It is unacceptable to mix religion with d3soccer. This is a soccer message board and nothing else.

Ron Boerger

LOL Pat Coleman a "right wing nut" ... you couldn't be much more wrong.

If you create a message board, you can dictate what it is.   If not, nobody is forcing you to be here.

Is there any money to be followed in this matter?

Take it Easy.
Some of us "Have Beens"  spent our entire 4 year career on the Right Wing (Even though we came to college as natural Center Forwards)!

We might take offense :)

PaulNewman

KICKIN, I didn't take offense.  Wasn't entirely sure how to take it.  I admit feeling taken aback a little when I came upon a "Click Here if you are ready for conversion."  Yes, the folks who run the site can do whatever they want.  I can handle it.  But I do think if you put something up you can't expect people to act like it's not there.  Or are we supposed to act like it's not there?  Awkward, especially when 90%+ of D3 (and presumably the D3 pool of interest) is not evangelical.

I just figured it was soccer-related ... you mean it wasn't an invitation to convert to being a Messiah fan. ;-)

New link in the Happy New Year message. Won't be fodder for much discussion, but I wanted to mention it.

I appreciate the open discussion about the previous link. Intellectual debate is always of value.

Yes, I liked the New Years link much better, if "liked" is the right word.  I personally am much more comfortable with Christian-sponsored humanitarian efforts targeted at helping people in need regardless of particular faith than with Christian messages primarily offered in an agenda to convert.
