Puget Sound wins at home against Whitman and gets the sweep (2-0). Whitman is now the #4 seed in the NWC and will play at George Fox on February 26.

Whitworth plays at Puget Sound today to finish the regular season. The winner will be the #2 seed and host the loser on the 26th. So they will play each other twice in less than a week.

Sounds like how we started our conference tournament for tennis. Played our quarterfinal opponent twice in less than 72 hours (won both).

CUNYAC:

#8 CCNY (5-20, 3-13) (61)
@ 2/21 3
#1 Baruch (21-4, 16-0) (104)

#5 Hunter (10-15, 7-9) (57)
@ 2/21 1
#4 Lehman (16-9, 10-6) (54)

#7 York (7-17, 4-12) (54)
@ 2/21 1
#2 Brooklyn (18-6, 14-2) (68)

#6 John Jay (8-16, 6-10) (55)
@ 2/21 1
#3 Staten Island (15-10, 12-4) (65)

Semifinals & finals @ CCNY

#1 Baruch (22-4, 16-0) (70)
vs. 2/24 6 PM
#5 Hunter (11-15, 7-9) (44)

#2 Brooklyn (19-6, 14-2) (69)
vs. 2/24 8 PM
#3 Staten Island (16-10, 12-4) (57)

#1 Baruch (23-4, 16-0) (60)
vs. 2/27 6 PM
#2 Brooklyn (20-6, 14-2) (39)

Brooklyn will be stuck behind the Stockton/Montclair loser AND the Eastern/Florham loser.  Baruch even would've had a hard time getting a pool C out of the east as they likely would've been stuck behind the same teams, and there's no way Brooklyn gets one.

AMCC, first round @ higher seeds 2/24, semifinals-finals 2/27-2/28 @ #1 seed La Roche:

#5 Medaille (10-15, 9-9) (65)
@ 2/24 7 PM
#4 Penn State-Altoona (10-15, 9-9) (97)
Winner onto Pittsburgh to play #1 LaRoche (20-5, 17-1)

#6 Franciscian (OH) (10-14, 8-10) (59)
@ 2/24
#3 Pitt-Greensburg (16-9, 12-6) (70)
Winner onto La Roche to play #2 Pitt-Bradford (17-7, 14-4)

#2 Pitt-Bradford (17-7, 14-4) (49)
vs. 2/27 8 PM
#3 Pitt-Greensburg (17-9, 12-6) (50)

#4 Penn State-Altoona (11-15, 9-9) (69)
@ 2/27 6 PM
#1 La Roche (20-5, 17-1) (102)

#3 Pitt-Greensburg (18-9, 12-6)
@ 2/28 3 PM
#1 La Roche (21-5, 17-1)

None of these 2 teams are ranked, so a 1 bid league no matter who wins.

American Southwest, all games at the 1 seed Texas-Tyler, 2/26-2/28:

#3 Louisiana College (16-7, 13-7) (91)
vs. 2/26 1 PM
#6 Mary Hardin Baylor (13-12, 9-11) (90.  OT)

#2 Texas-Dallas (21-4, 17-3) (59)
vs. 2/26 3:30 PM
#7 Concordia (TX) (9-15, 8-12) (47)

#4 Howard Payne (15-10, 12-8) (83)
vs. 2/26 6 PM
#5 Hardin-Simmons (12-14, 10-10) (64)

#8 Ozarks (11-14, 7-13) (53)
@ 2/26 8:30 PM
#1 Texas-Tyler (24-1, 19-1) (113)

#3 Louisiana College (17-7, 13-7) (67)
vs. 2/27 6 PM
#2 Texas-Dallas (22-4, 17-3) (70)

#4 Howard Payne (16-10, 12-8) (47)
@ 2/27 8:30 PM
#1 Texas-Tyler (25-1, 19-1) (76)

#2 Texas-Dallas (23-4, 17-3)
@ 2/28 5 PM
#1 Texas-Tyler (26-1, 17-3)

Texas-Tyler is a lock for the tournament, Texas-Dallas was #5 in the South last week.  Whether or not they jump #4 Randolph-Macon who lost in the ODAC quarterfinals, they should be no worse than 2nd on the board if both Eastern Mennonite (#2) and Maryville (#3) win the AQs from their conferences.  I say both teams get in regardless of who wins but Dallas is on more thin ice than Tyler is.

Centennial play in game Tuesday, February 24, semifinals and finals Friday, February 27-Saturday, February 28 @ McDaniel:

#5 Gettsyburg (16-8, 10-8) (55)
@ 2/24
#4 Haverford (15-10, 13-5) (58)
Winner goes to Westminster, MD to play #1 McDaniel (23-2, 16-2)

#2 Muhlenberg (18-7, 15-3) and #3 Johns Hopkins (16-8, 13-5) also get bye's to the semifinals and will play each other in the other semifinal game

#4 Haverford (16-10, 13-5) (48)
@ 2/27 6 PM
#1 McDaniel (23-3, 16-2) (49)

#2 Muhlenberg (18-7, 15-3) (56)
vs. 2/27 8 PM
#3 Johns Hopkins (16-8, 13-5) (46)

#2 Muhlenberg (19-7, 15-3)
@ 2/28 4 PM
#1 McDaniel (24-3, 16-2)

McDaniel was #4 in the Mid atlantic, Muhlenberg was #5; both teams are on thin ice.  I'd say McDaniel is in with a loss while Muhlenberg needs to win to get in.

Commonwealth Coast, quarterfinals Tuesday, February 24, semifinals Thursday 2/26, finals 2/26.  All games played @ the higher seed:

#6 Salve Regina (12-13, 9-9) (49)
@ 2/24 7 PM
#3 Curry (15-10, 10-6) (54)

#7 Endicott (11-14, 7-11) (73)
@ 2/24 6 PM
#2 Roger Williams (19-6, 16-2) (59)

#5 Eastern Nazarene (12-13, 10-8) (75)
@ 2/24 7 PM
#4 Western New England (16-9, 11-7) (80)

#8 Wentworth (7-18, 5-13) (45)
@ 2/24 7 PM
#1 UNE (20-5, 16-2) (79)

#7 Endicott (12-14, 7-11) (49)
@ 2/26 6 PM
#3 Curry (16-10, 10-6) (66)

#4 Western New England (17-9, 11-7) (56)
@ 2/26 7 PM
#1 University of New England (21-5, 16-2) (81)

#3 Curry (17-10, 10-6)
@ 2/28 2 PM
#1 University of New England (22-5, 16-2)

UNE is #5 in Northeast and after Bowdoin/Tufts/Williams/Amherst go which should be fairly quickly, they'll be next up for selection so they are probably safe.  Curry is unranked and needs to win to get in.

Capital Athletic, First round Tuesday, February 24, semifinals Thursday, February 26, finals Saturday, February 28, all games @ the highest seed.

#6 St. Mary's (MD) (7-17, 7-11) (48)
@ 2/24 6 PM
#3 Marymount (17-8, 13-5) (66)
Winner to #2 Mary Washington (19-6, 15-3) 2/26 7 PM

#5 York (PA) (7-14, 7-11) (73)
@ 2/24 5:30 PM
#4 Christopher Newport (17-8, 13-5) (65)
Winner plays #1 Salisbury (23-2, 17-1) 2/26 6 PM

#5 York (PA) (8-14, 7-11) (61)
@ 2/26 6 PM
#1 Salisbury (23-2, 17-1) (76)

#3 Marymount (18-8, 13-5) (46)
@ 2/26 7 PM
#2 Mary Washington (19-6, 15-3) (60)

#2 Mary Washington (20-6, 15-3)
@ 2/28 2 PM
#1 Salisbury (24-2, 17-1)

Mary Washington is unranked, Salisbury is #2 in Mid Atlantic, so they are a lock for the NCAAs.

GNAC, quarterfinals Tuesday, February 24, semifinals Thursday February 26, finals Saturday 2/28 all at the site of the higher seeds:

#7 Anna Maria (10-15, 5-6) (51)
@ 2/24 7 PM
#2 Norwich (21-4, 8-3) (68)

#6 St. Joseph's (ME) (16-9, 6-5) (62)
@ 2/24 5:30 PM
#3 Johnson & Wales (16-9, 8-3) (70)

#5 Rivier (11-13, 7-4) (45)
@ 2/24 7 PM
#4 Suffolk (12-13, 8-3) (60)

#8 Albertus Magnus (11-14, 4-7) (52)
@ 2/24 7 PM
#1 Emmanuel (16-9, 11-0) (77)

#3 Johnson & Wales (17-9, 8-3) (74)
@ 2/26 7 PM
#2 Norwich (22-4, 8-3) (65)

#4 Suffolk (13-13, 8-3) (65)
@ 2/26 7 PM
#1 Emmanuel (17-9, 11-0) (66)

#3 Johnson & Wales (18-9, 8-3)
@ 2/28 1 PM
#1 Emmanuel (18-9, 11-0)

Neither is ranked, so it's win or go home for both teams in this 1 bid league.

CCIW semifinals-Finals Friday, February 27-Saturday, February 28 @ Wheaton College

Wheaton (22-3, 12-2) is the 1 seed and North Central (21-4, 10-4) is the 2 seed.  if Elmhurst beats Illinois Wesleyan they are the 3 seed and Carthage is the 4 seed; If Illinois Wesleyan wins Carthage is the 3 seed and Elmhurst is the 4 seed

#2 North Central (IL) (21-4, 10-4) (89)
vs. 2/27 6 PM
#3 Elmhurst (16-9, 9-5) (87)

#4 Carthage (15-10, 8-6) (42)
@ 2/27 8 PM
#1 Wheaton (IL) (22-3, 12-2) (65)

#2 North Central (IL) (22-4, 10-4)
@ 2/28 8 PM
#1 Wheaton (IL) (23-3, 10-4)

Wheaton is #1 in the central; North Central is #3.  Both should be relatively safe even more so if Wash U wins the UAA AQ so it'll bump North Central to the first Central team off the board.

Empire 8 semifinals-finals Friday, February 27-Saturday, February 28 @ Ithaca

#4 Nazareth (15-10, 10-6) (53)
@ 2/27 6 PM
#1 Ithaca (21-4, 15-1) (72)

#2 Stevens (21-3, 13-2) (61)
vs. 2/27 8 PM
#3 St. John Fisher (19-5, 12-3) (75)

#3 St. John Fisher (20-5, 12-3)
@ 2/28 4 PM
#1 Ithaca (22-4, 15-1)

Ithaca is #3 in the East, St. John Fisher is #5 and Stevens was #4.  SJF will likely jump Stevens in that elimination game and probably has to beat Ithaca to get in.  I think Ithaca will still get in with a loss.

Liberty League, semifinals 2/25, finals 2/28; all games @ higher seed:
St. Lawrence has locked up the 1 seed and Skidmore is locked in at 2, Union, Clarkson and RPI are still alive for the final 3 spots.

#3 Clarkson (18-7, 11-5) (55)
@ 2/25 6 PM
#2 Skidmore (15-10, 11-5) (64)

#4 Union (17-8, 11-5) (65)
@ 2/25 7 PM
#1 St. Lawrence (19-6, 13-3) (74)

#2 Skidmore (16-10, 11-5)
@ 2/28 3 PM
#1 St. Lawrence (20-6, 13-3)

1 bid league.  Skidmore is unranked, and St. Lawrence will be stuck behind at least 4 teams as they are #7 in the east.

IIAC First round Tuesday, February 24, semifinals Thursday, February 26, Finals Saturday, February 28.  All games @ the higher seed:

#5 Wartburg (15-10, 6-8) (65)
@ 2/24 8 PM
#4 Loras (15-10, 9-5) (58)
Winner onto #1 Dubuque (17-8, 11-3) 2/26 8 PM

#6 Simpson (16-9, 6-8) (64)
@ 2/24 8 PM
#3 Coe (17-8, 10-4) (70)
Winner onto #2 Luther (20-5, 10-4) 2/26 8 PM

#3 Coe (18-8, 10-4) (82)
@ 2/26 8 PM
#2 Luther (20-5, 10-4) (89)

#5 Wartburg (16-10, 6-8) (72)
@ 2/26 8 PM
#1 Dubuque (17-8, 11-3) (68)

#5 Wartburg (17-10, 6-8)
@ 2/28 5 PM
#2 Luther (21-5, 10-4)

Luther was 6th in the West, Dubuque was 8th.  Dubuque isn't getting in and I doubt Luther gets in either, so that leaves the IIAC a 1 bid league.

MASCAC first round Tuesday, February 24, semifinals Thursday, February 26, finals February 28 all at the higher seeds:

#5 Fitchburg (13-11, 4-8) (47)
@ 2/24 7 PM
#4 Framingham (15-8, 7-5) (60)
Winner goes to #1 Westfield State (21-4, 12-0) 2/26 5:30 PM

#3 Worcester (16-9, 7-5) (78)
vs. 2/24 7 PM (@ Clark)
#6 Salem State (5-20, 3-9) (63)
Winner goes to #2 Bridgewater State (14-10, 8-4) 2/26 5:30 PM

#3 Worcester (17-9, 7-5) (45)
@ 2/26 5:30 PM
#2 Bridgewater State (14-10, 8-4) (59)

#4 Framingham (16-8, 7-5) (65)
@ 2/26 5:30 PM
#1 Westfield (21-4, 12-0) (79)

#2 Bridgewater (15-10, 8-4)
@ 2/28 12 noon
#1 Westfield (22-4, 12-0)

Bridgewater is unranked so they need to win.  Westfield is #6 in New England right around that cutoff.  However whichever 3 of Tufts/Bowdoin/Amherst/and Williams don't win the NESCAC will get selected pretty early and if UNE wins the CCC they'll be next up.  If UNE wins the CCC they get in; if Curry beats them, Westfield is left out.

#67
Commonwealth, play in game Monday, February 23, semifinals Wednesday, February 25, finals Saturday, February 28.  All games @ the higher seed:

#5 Arcadia (12-13, 8-8) (63)
@ 2/23 7 PM
#4 Lebanon Valley (17-8, 8-8) (82)
Winner plays @ #1 Stevenson (21-3, 15-1) 2/25.  #3 Messiah (13-12, 9-7) and #2 Albright (19-6, 13-3) go straight to the semifinals

#3 Messiah (13-12, 9-7) (42)
@ 2/25 7 PM
#2 Albright (19-6, 13-3) (59)

#4 Lebanon Valley (18-8, 8-8) (47)
@ 2/25 6 PM
#1 Stevenson (21-3, 15-1) (63)

#2 Albright (20-6, 13-3)
@ 2/28 4 PM
#1 Stevenson (22-3, 15-1)

Stevenson is #3 in the Mid Atlantic so they are on ice even though I think they get in.  Albright is #6 behind McDaniel (#4) and Muhlenberg (#5) playing in the Centennial.  Doubt the Mid Atlantic gets more than 2, but if Scranton (#1) Salisbury (#2) win their conference AQs Albright would be second up, but I don't think it'll be enough.

Freedom, semifinals Wednesday, February 25, championship Saturday, February 28.  Higher seed hosts all games:

#3 DeSales (14-11, 8-6) (63)
@ 2/25 7 PM
#2 Eastern (21-4, 13-1) (72)

#4 Delaware Valley (13-12, 8-6) (49)
@ 2/25 7 PM
#1 FDU-Florham (24-1, 13-1) (79)

#2 Eastern (22-4, 13-1)
@ 2/28 1 PM
#1 FDU-Florham (25-1, 13-1)

Florham is #2 in Atlantic, Eastern is #5.  The problem I see for Eastern is that Richard Stockton (#4) looks like the blocker for the rest of the region, so Eastern's best case scenario is for Stockton to beat Montclair since Montclair will be easily selected and that opens up the rest of the region.  They better be big fans of Cabrini (#3) as well.

Landmark semifinals Wednesday, February 25, championship Saturday, February 28.  Higher seeds host throughout:

Scranton (23-2, 15-1) is the 1 seed, Catholic (17-8, 11-5) is the 2 seed, Elizabethtown (18-6, 11-5) is the 3 seed.

#4 Susquehanna (17-8, 10-6) (49)
@ 2/25 5:30 PM
#1 Scranton (23-2, 15-1) (92)

#3 Elizabethtown (18-6, 11-5) (47)
@ 2/25 5:30 PM
#2 Catholic (17-8, 11-5) (52)

#2 Catholic (18-8, 11-5)
@ 2/28 4 PM
#1 Scranton (24-2, 15-1)

Catholic is unranked, Scranton is #1 in Mid Atlantic.  Scranton is getting selected easily, so if Scranton loses, this becomes a 2 bid league.

Susquehanna is the 4th seed, even if Moravian wins & finishes in a tie. After a split in the head-to-head, Susquehanna wins by virtue of 2 wins over Catholic, the 2nd seed. Landmark standings incorrectly list E-town as 2nd seed, but Catholic wins that tie by virtue of win over Scranton.

MIAA, semifinals 2/25, finals 2/28 all games @ higher seeds:

#4 Olivet (14-11, 9-7) (54)
@ 2/25 7:30 PM
#1 Calvin (25-0, 16-0) (88)

#3 Kalamazoo (16-9, 10-6) (48)
@ 2/25 7:30 PM
#2 Hope (22-3, 14-2) (62)

#2 Hope (23-3, 14-2)
@ 2/28 3 PM
#1 Calvin (26-0, 16-0)

Calvin's #2 in the Great Lakes, Hope checks in at #6.  Calvin's safe, Hope is a little more dicey as they are already behind John Carroll (#4) and DePauw (#3) who both suffered home semifinal loses, but in the end I think both will get in.

MIAC, first round 2/24, semifinals 2/26 final 2/28.  All games at the highest seed:

#6 Augsburg (14-11, 9-9) (56)
@ 2/24 8 PM
#3 Concordia-Moorhead (15-10, 11-7) (50)

#5 Gustavus Adolphus (17-8, 11-7) (58)
@ 2/24 8 PM
#4 St. Mary's (17-8, 11-7) (90)

#1 St. Thomas (25-0, 18-0) gets the lowest remaining seed after the first round while #2 Bethel (20-5, 14-4) gets the highest remaining seed

#6 Augsburg (15-11, 9-9) (39)
@ 2/26 8 PM
#1 St. Thomas (25-0, 18-0) (63)

#4 St. Mary's (18-8, 11-7) (56)
@ 2/26 8 PM
#2 Bethel (20-5, 14-4) (72)

#2 Bethel (21-5, 14-4)
@ 2/28 4 PM
#1 St. Thomas (26-0, 18-0)

St. Thomas is #2 in the West so they are fine; Bethel checks in at #7 so they are likely out.

NEWMAC, opening round 2/25, semifinals-finals 2/28-3/1; opening round takes place @ higher seeds, semifinals-finals @ Springfield.

#7 Emerson (12-13, 6-10) (64)
@ 2/25 7 PM
#2 Wheaton (18-7, 13-3) (78)

#6 MIT (11-14, 7-9) (56)
@ 2/25 7 PM
#3 Coast Guard (18-7, 12-4) (81)

#5 WPI (16-9, 9-7) (41)
@ 2/25 7 PM
#4 Babson (17-8, 12-4) (50)
Winner goes onto #1 Springfield (19-6, 14-2)

#4 Babson (18-8, 12-4)
@ 2/28 1 PM
#1 Springfield (19-6, 14-2)

#2 Wheaton (MA) (19-7, 13-3)
vs. 2/28 3:30 PM
#3 Coast Guard (19-7, 12-4)

Babson, Wheaton and Coast Guard are unranked while Springfield checks in at #8.  Once the NESCAC trio clears if all the other favorites win their conferences it maybe good enough to sneak in as one of the last teams in.  However if ANY of UNE (#5), Westfield (#6) OR Dartmouth (#7 with 2 games left) lose than Springfield is done.

NECC, opening round 2/24 @ campus sites; semifinals-finals 2/27-2/28 @ Regis (MA):

#6 Newbury (8-17, 7-11) (41)
@ 2/24 7 PM
#3 Southern Vermont (15-10, 13-5) (80)

#7 Daniel Webster (7-18, 7-11) (48)
@ 2/24 6 PM
#2 Elms (17-8, 15-3) (86)

#5 Wheelock (11-14, 9-9) (65)
@ 2/24 7 PM
#4 Mitchell (12-12, 12-6) (84)
winner goes onto #1 Regis (MA) (20-5, 18-0)

#4 Mitchell (13-12, 12-6) (31)
@ 2/27 6 PM
#1 Regis (MA) (20-5, 18-0) (64)

#2 Elms (18-8, 15-3) (65)
vs. 2/27 8 PM
#3 Southern Vermont (16-10, 13-5) (70)

#3 Southern Vermont (17-10, 13-5)
@ 2/28 2 PM
#1 Regis (MA) (21-5, 18-0).
It's win or go to the ECAC's for Regis.

UMass-Boston & UMass-Dartmouth, both of whom normally compete for last in the LEC both have home quarterfinal games as the 2 & 3 seed, that's only the second time Boston has hosted a quarterfinal game and only the 7th or 8th time Dartmouth has played at home; meanwhile Southern Maine who is the benchmark for success in the conference has to open on the road as the 5 seed....I believe the first time they have played a true road game in the conference tournament before the semifinals.  So, yes at least in the LEC it's been 1 weird thing after another this year.
