4. Redlands
10. Chapman

Meh, I've felt like Whitworth and Linfield were both overrated before this. Linfield was living on its name and Whitworth the fact that it beat said name last year before an early playoff exit.

Agreed. I can't put Redlands ahead of the top 3 MIAC teams just because they beat Linfield. I'll have them much further down than that, then have Linfield below them.

Lance Leipold is not walking through that door.

Not the best slate of games in the West this week.

Bethel @ Gustavus - Third quality opponent for Gustavus, and a notable road test for Bethel as well.

The NWC and SCIAC basically take this weekend off, save for Cal Lutheran, which hosts Stout on a long road trip.  That'll be worth keeping an eye on.

Yeah, GAC has seen plenty of good competition so far. This is the first major test for Bethel. We'll find out a lot on Saturday, especially in our secondary as GAC has a very good QB.

Huh, consensus on number 3 this week.

Yeah, we don't see that very often. We're all in agreeance on Bethel.

Interesting that Wartburg jumped 3 spots this week.  Certainly moving ahead of UST makes sense, but they also moved ahead of Redlands and LaCrosse.  Redlands and LaCrosse were off last week, while Wartburg ultimately handled Dubuque (although at one point late in the first quarter Wartburg was down 17-0).

LaCrosse fell from 5 to 6, and Redlands moved from 6 to 5.

Games of note this week:

Concordia at UST:  UST listing after last week's odd loss, Cobbers with big bounce back dominant wins these last two weeks
UWEC at UWW:      First chance for UWW to assert its dominance in the WIAC; hangover game for UWEC?
UWLC at UWP:       Best game in the WIAC, will UWLC hold serve and be in a good position for next week's game at UWW?

Looks like Wartburg benefited the most in this poll from St. Thomas losing. (Almost) everyone bumped Wartburg up 1 or 2 spots. I would look at the vote totals, but we're down a man this week. So the points don't really help us out when comparing it to last week.

Received a late entry this week, so I updated the poll above accordingly.

I'm interested in seeing Wartburg's result vs Simpson. I just don't have a gauge on where they stack right now. UST crapped the bed vs. UWEC but it was a really weird loss. Can't argue with where they ended up, but I think they are better team than people might think right now. But they've got no one to blame but themselves, and every chance to prove it on the field as the season progresses.

Yup, it wouldn't surprise if they bounce back and take down St. John's in a few weeks (in St. Paul). Not certain it'll actually happen, but very possible.

Very minor - but I think that should be UWW (7) and SJU (2) - like the post above it - right?

...it does get a little interesting after #3.
