12. 2009 marked the 1 year anniversary of the end of ZIMA (Could this be why DPU stopped winning?)

..

Shut your mouth when you talk to me about ZIMA.

I miss those days https://youtu.be/yUcq9_IsnXM

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Dear Football Alumni and Friends:

Our Senior day game ended with a big win vs. Oberlin. The final score ended with a 53-0 DePauw Tiger victory. It was a great full team win and our seniors had some great performances in all three phases of the game. The win brings our overall record to 8-1 and 7-1 in NCAC play.

We won three of our four team metrics:

We won average starting field position by 13 yards.
There were no turnovers in the game.
We had 8 more explosives plays.
We converted 50% more of our possession (3rd & 4th down) down opportunities.
Offensively, we had 598 total yards of offense with 290 yards coming in the air and 308 yards on the ground. We totaled 32 first downs for the game and converted 77% of our 3rd down opportunities. Junior QB Matt Hunt was 14-17 for 208 yards and 3 touchdowns, and added 61 yards on the ground. Junior RB Jason Kirchhoff led all rushers with 86 yards and 3 touchdowns. Sophomore QB Jake Lasky and Freshman RB Ramon Lopez each added a touchdown on the ground. Senior TE Tyler Leising had 5 catches for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns. Junior WR Ian Good added a touchdown catch.

Defensively, we gave up just 55 yards rushing and held them to just 29% on possession downs. Senior LB Phil Ganser led the defense with 6 total tackes and 1.5 tackles for loss. Junior LB Tommy Gray added 5 total tackles. Freshman DE Nate Orrison had the lone sack of the day. Junior LB Will Longthorne added a tackle for loss and Junior DE Kevin Kiyosaki had .5 a tackle for loss.

Our special teams did a great job of helping us to win the starting field position battle. Senior P Paul Simon punted one for 58 yards. Junior K Marko Adams kicked off 9 times, averaging 62 yards a kick with 2 touchbacks. Marko also made five extra points on the day. Senior FB Jake Miller did a great job on kickoff coverage and ended the day with 4 tackles.

This Saturday we square off in the 122nd Monon Bell Classic versus Wabash College. Kickoff is set for 1:07 p.m. Eastern Time. The game will determine the champion of the NCAC conference and the conference representative in the 2015 Division 3 National Playoffs. Tickets are still available for purchase on the DePauw football webpage. We hope to have an electric crowd on Saturday to cheer our athletes on and help us keep the Bell in Greencastle.

As always, Attached is a link to the DePauw 2015-16 Football Schedule.

Hmmm, don't believe there is anything in Greencastle for DePauw to try to keep . . .
Long shall we sing thy praises, Old Wabash

Can't find anyone strong enough to carry it down to Greencastle for the game? I can pick it up if you want. We usually stop at that truck stop you call Crawfordsdingle to say hello to all the Wally moms at Touch of Class before heading to Grand Olde DePauw.

The fact that Depauw still has tickets left, at their place, sitting at 8-1, for a chance to win the league championship, IS SO DAMN LAME.

Coach Lynch...."hope the crowd is electric" - bahahahahaha - can you imagine ER saying/asking that?  It's not necessary EVER for Wabash, it just happens.

One more thing I need to share...  In a group text message discussing the game this weekend, I love this text - it sums it up for the Dannies:  It's not close dude.  And I promise that any Depauw fan that isn't there to get drunk and snapchat is going to see those two teams on the field pregame and go "oh $hit, we're F&%#'ed."

The fact that daGash still has tickets left, sitting at 9-0, with a total student body of 900, for a chance to win the league championship outright, IS SO DAMN LAME.

I can imagine ER asking Valpo if the position is still open if things go south this weekend.

for a chance to win the league championship,

We won that last week.  You see - we actually managed to beat Ohio Wesleyan this year.

Leaving early tomorrow from the great State of Colorado for the annual trip out East. It is hard to believe that this is the 19th Consecutive.

Anyone else have a streak going? Where is everyone traveling from?

As always, stop by our tailgate I will buy you a beer, even if I hate you.

Safe travels.

It just occurred to me that this is no longer an interregional game. I should move this board into the North Region like the Cortaca conversation is in the East. :)

Uhhh - don't believe there is anything in Greencastle worth keeping... well, except for a Debauch zucchini patch  ;)
