Amherst 2 Conn 1.

Conn has been a pleasant surprise and fun to watch.

Conn 1 Amherst 1 ---very physical game, but somehow the Camels get a point, although it will be very difficult on the Lord Jeffs home pitch.  Conn has played them close with 2 ties and 2 close losses in the last 5 years (except the juggernaut Amherst team of 2012 which won decidedly).  Problem for Conn could be lack of depth vs Amherst today.

Amherst 2-1 Conn - Even though the Jeffs are the vastly stronger team, I think Conn. will get on the board against Amherst.

Non-conference matchup (just for kicks):
Tufts 3-1 Gordon - Like Endicott proved, CCC sides are capable of nicking a goal against Tufts' defense. That said, Tufts has too much for the visitors.

Saturday

Colby 0-2 Amherst - This is Colby's cup final, and they'll be up for it no doubt especially being at home. But the Jeffs are just too good, and they'll score a routine 2-0 victory on the road.

Wesleyan 2-1 Williams - Wesleyan will be reeling after Midd's smash-and-grab win last Sunday. Cowie-Haskell is a great player and will prove tough for the Ephs backline. Williams is still a bit inconsistent - winning at RPI and then tying away to Endicott - and I think Wes. is the more complete team.

Bowdoin 1-0 Hamilton - Were this at Hamilton, I might fancy the Continentals given their big win over Tufts earlier this year (yes, I know the Jumbos threw that one away and rotated some players.) But Bowdoin being at home and with spirits high after Monday's performance, it's hard to see Hamilton getting a result on the road.

Middlebury 1-1 Trinity - A tough one that neither can really afford to lose. Despite a relatively weak out-of-conference schedule that I often harp on, Midd. is the better team, but Trinity will do enough to get a point.

Bates 0-2 Tufts - Having Tufts, Amherst, and Midd. all at home is certainly a boon for Bates. But the Jumbos are just too good for the host Bobcats, and Knoth and Merchant are not on the same level as Majumder and Kayne. Will I have to eat my words? Time will tell, but I still think Tufts gets this one somewhat comfortably, although Bates' fighting spirit has been evident this season.

Sunday

Bates 1-2 Amherst - Yes, yes, I know I said Bates would score. Amherst's defense has been imperious, but I think they'll go complacent for a second against the Bobcats' opportunistic offense. Bates will show up for this one and, the Wesleyan game aside, has shown that they don't go down without a fight. However, they're untested against the (IMHO) three best sides in the league, and - add in that they'll have been worn down by Tufts the day previous - and Amherst will walk away with a pretty comfortable win.

Bonus:
Babson 1-2 Williams - Two great coaches and both of their teams are reeling - Williams hadn't dropped points against a CCC opponent in quite some time before Tuesday, and Babson got shellacked at Bowdoin. Kaplan is a solid CF and is coming off a goal against the Polar Bears. That said, I fancy Williams to get the job done away - they seem to be playing better away where there's less pressure, as they're 3-1-1 away vs. 1-3-1 home.
