I read his post literally (the same way I try to write and prefer to be read) and didn't see the big deal.  I didn't even realize he was the same person who I corrected a page early (another post which I did not see any big deal with; my correction was not about what he wrote but about his apparent misunderstanding of the post he was responding to). Whether due to indifference or preoccupation (probably good measures of both), I really don't keep track of the who's and what's of these on-going spits and spats, so in my "ignorance is bliss" fog the spat didn't make sense and seem like it could be diffused as I attempted to do. <Man, did I really just waste a whole post on non-soccer stuff? Sheesh. 10 minutes I'll never have back.>

Fair enough.  I knew you were ONLY correcting him, although that post was pretty clearly marked as last year's AA lists.  In any case, having now read this from that first post you corrected.....

"I have to disagree with some of these.. No one from Tufts???  No Kayne or Majumder?  Some of the players cited play for teams that have "cake" schedules and not much competition."

....can you see I how I might have read the second one the way I did?

I wouldn't disagree that you may have wasted your time, but I would disagree that you wasted it on non-soccer stuff.  90% of posts, even the really good ones, are at least indirectly tied to soccer allegiances...which seems to be what really drives the site, mostly in a good way...and I would suggest that SO FAR the site, both in terms of formal site content AND forum content....is having its best year ever.

FW, maybe this will jog your memory from a weeks ago when BF complained about "No love for NESCAC from Hero Sports" in the context of which he again was complaining about specific players -- included and omitted -- and noting the same points about strength of conferences, NESCAC having less games, etc.

You wrote in response to him, in part...."Finally, try being less hypersensitive to any perceived lack of recognition for being the absolute best.  It's unbecoming for you and a turn-off (to say the least) to the rest of us."   That was pretty direct, I'd say.

But I don't want my memory jogged.  I don't keep score.  And I certainly don't care to be pulled into any riff between posters.  For the most part I don't remember whose posts I have responded to.  I respond to posts, not to posters.  I mainly respond to what is written, not who wrote it.  I honestly had no idea BF was the poster I responded to up-thread or who I responded to in a different thread a couple week ago.  And guess what?  I.  Don't.  Care.  I enjoy the boards much more not worrying about such things.  That's my approach.  Works for me.  (Disclaimer: I wasn't always this way. I had my "moments" back in the good old days of BlueJayFan's D3 Soccer Message Board in the 2000's; I liked mixing it up with the E-town and Trinity fans.  Good memories!)

Now, about the Andryk brothers?  Who HAS seen them play for MSOE?  I've been intrigued by Logan Andryk seeing his stats and how MSOE has improved in recent years.

Thanks for your candor and honesty.  i won't be drawn into it either as I didn't create the spat and don't really feel obligated to justify anything.  I didn't make the post to create argument but some like to drum it up.  Other posters had similar issues in the past.  FW, there is no spat or malicious intent on my part..Oh, maybe i made a mistake in a post that I lived up and admitted. Big Woof!.. I look forward to your continued analysis and candor. I don't know the score either..So, instead of giving NCAC a smite, I'll give you and applaud.......Thanks FW...

Moving aside from the little "spat" we just think differently, which obviously is fine.  I read the site as a text, and have the view that text is inseparable from the author.  Thus I see patterns, how one responds to things and processes them in his mind, like how you handled your recap of the Messiah game last night.  Certainly whenever you personally, or Mr.Right, or whoever, posts readers notice that the post is coming from you, and they appreciate it in part because it is coming from you.  You are well-identified as having allegiance to Messiah but very skilled in how you think and poster and consider your allegiance and take that into account in your offerings.  This is actually interesting to me, because I would not even begin to know how to read content with no consciousness of where it was coming from.

FW, I have seen the Andryks play in person, on internet feeds, and when they were high schoolers.

These two are smooth operators. Logan is more of the creator while Braden is the chaos player. Both require attention for 90 minutes as they have the ability to change a match in the snap of a finger. They're always hungry, always in the mood for a good match. I feel they also have the intangible of making those around them better- a true measure of an exceptional player.

These brothers give their best effort every time they're on the pitch, from what I've heard they do well in their studies, and in talking with them briefly they have been nothing but polite, standup gentlemen.

Isn't that what being an all-american is about?

I've also had the privilege of seeing the Andryks operate on the field a number of times.

Logan does just about everything for the Raiders. Every corner, free kick, long throw-in, penalty kick, you name it...which is a major reason why he has so many assists year to year. But every serve is 100% perfect and his teammates do an excellent job attacking his services. He's one of the most athletic players on the field in every game to go along with his outstanding technical abilities.

Braden is a streaky little guy who has a freakishly good knack for the goal. Always pops up in the right situation and can finish anywhere from 30 on in, usually with finesse and ease. He's quick and works very hard off the ball to create for himself and his teammates. It will be very interesting to see how he can perform in the next 2 seasons once Logan graduates.

But for now, the Andryks are rolling and will give any team fits for 90+ minutes.

Also just FYI for those not around the Midwest, MSOE's home field is located ON TOP of a Parking Garage. Pretty sweet venue.

Add Cvecko to the list.  He didn't score in the game I saw - against Capital - but the tenacity and competitiveness he demonstrated (CWRU was down a man for close to 70 minutes) is second to none.

Brenton Desai of UChicago should get some recognition this year. All-UAA First Team last year as a sophomore and has 7 goals in 11 games so far this season and 4 GWG

Having a NESCAC bias and watching many games I will second both Pascal-Leone and Kayne for what they mean to their respective teams, one a scorer-NPL, and one who can control the tempo and direction of a game and who may be the best passer in D3, a complete 2 way player-Kayne. Yes, you may not see high numbers, but they perform in a knock down drag out low scoring league...would be interesting to see the two play on the same team....
