What's up with the negative karma when not even posting?  And some going around for Mr.Right and FW also.  Knock yourself but maybe give us a clue.  I'll be glad to rack up a bunch more if I know what it's for.

Yes...That's how much I follow Women's soccer. ..Women can play some attractive soccer but one thing I HATE is the HORRIFIC GK'ing at the Women's level.

yeah a good woman keeper is hard to find, the ones that are found get D1 offers right away because there is such a shortage on solid women keepers. the D3 schools kind of have to just settle for a sub par goalie and hope you can train her to become solid. makes things interesting

The club goalie coach that can consistently train women GK to parry high balls effectively will have a lucrative camp business....

College girls should be able to parry "balls"... don't they usually have hands on experience in high school?

Mr.Right

This ref doing a solid job so far as he is not letting Amherst or Oneonta get chippy as of yet

Mr.Right

Interestingly Oneonta matching Amherst physicality even with the size difference

firstplaceloser

pretty mad I won't be able to watch the games tonight, I'm hoping for two instant classic matches.

Ryan Harmanis

You didn't miss much of anything in the first half of Amherst-Oneonta. Two "shots" on goal, if you can call them that, with tame headers from Amherst on set pieces that any goalkeeper would save with ease. No great chances for either side, 2-3 half-chances for Amherst off set pieces, about the same for Oneonta.  First half probably even, but we've had 19 fouls and only 8 shots.

Amherst's best chance was a flicked header that Oneonta saved easily. Oneonta's best chance was a through ball that led to a shot from about 8-10 yards out, but Amherst had two defenders make a great block so the shot never even reached goal. Neither chance seemed very likely to score.

Sensing an Oneonta St goal from a serviced ball from the left flank, either headed in or dropped to a trailing mid or a shot on target..

Mr.Right

Amherst playing how they play in Nescac game in and game out. I do not think Oneonta will win on a header considering they have not won a header all game. Amherst will continue to bear down and might wear Oneonta down eventually but you are correct not one legit chance for either side. If I were Oneonta I would not be fouling Amherst much more in their own defensive end as that is how Amherst will score if they do score. Oneonta needs to keep spreading the ball out to the flanks and get Amherst defenders chasing but I am not seeing that as of now

That's exactly how to beat or wear down Amherst...

lastguyoffthebench

Head that ball down to the carpet and it's a goal...

Mr.Right

Oneonta's #18 had a wide open net and headed above the bar..5 minutes later Amherst Martin wide open goal and blocked by the last defender..Game seems to be opening up a bit...Is it just me or has Oneonta not subbed yet?

Ryan Harmanis

Oneonta subbed four players at once with 15 minutes to go in the first half. Actually, Amherst only used two subs for a total of four minutes (one player for 3, one for 1), so Oneonta's players got a bit more rest.

firstplaceloser

seems like too much respect was given between the two in the first half

Mr.Right

Ahh I must have missed that mass sub by Oneonta..I am surprised Amherst has not used MF Rico more but who knows. Personally, I think Oneonta's Santengelo needs to go at Amherst Rohan Sood. I would like that match-up for Oneonta as Sood is a weak link IMO for Amherst
