W&L scraps a goal. They've dominated play in the second half so it was due, but it wasn't pretty.

Only a matter of time until they get another.

There's two. Too much pressure. W&L looks much better in the second half. Methodist is pinned back. I think the wind was playing a huge roll in the first half.

Great individual effort by Kim. Nice strike too. Game over. Keep me posted but I'm done watching this one  ;D

There is the 3rd on a PK. Looked like a fould and the Methodist team didn't really put up a huge fight about it.

W&L wins 3-0. Wasn't pretty but got the job done. Be interesting to see them against Haverford. I think the second year coach has aspirations, so if nothing else he will get a yardstick. Hopefully the pitch will be better and the wind won't be howling and the teams can play soccer.

Nice job Generals. First NCAA win since 2000. Which was also the last appearance...

Anyone know if the Morrisville St game is going to be streamed? I can't find a video link.

Quick point of vexation, I think it's in poor taste that the ncaa allows a team with the name "Red Men" in the NCAA. An institution which receives major government sponsorship and in turn shares profits with the us government, in essence a governmental entity, allows a team with a mascot that has a derogatory phrase attached to it compete in its league. Especially after all of the hardship and injustice that the government instilled on the Native American people, I find it slightly offensive. That being said, I think that the red men will make a serious run in the tournament. With wins against some big time hitters, like Chicago, and winning their conference title, usually dominated by powerhouse Wheaton, I see them going a long way. My final prediction, elite eight. Strong senior class and unbelievable depth, they will be a force to be reckoned with.

I hear you.  And what about some of the other names:

Beavers - offensive to women
Saints, Lords - offensive to atheists
Red Devils - offensive to theists and deists
Polar Bears - why only white bears?
Jumbos - offensive to little people

The NCAA should take charge and mandate changes for all these potentially offensive names immediately !!

Good points! But the NCAA guidelines say we shouldn't have mascots that refer to particular people groups. There are lots of other teams with mascots that seem to violate this guideline:
Scots
Britons
Dutchmen
Engineers
Presidents
Knights
Fighting Irish (not D3)

These, and all similar, should be eliminated.

But we don't want to be speciesist. For similar reasons we should eliminate
Polar bears
Hornets
Beavers
Wolverines
Banana slugs
etc.

You're safe (for now) with vegetable matter (e.g. the Buckeyes) or things which no one understands (Hoosiers).

You're also safe with atmospheric disturbances, like the Thunder and the Hurricanes. Maybe other teams could take mascots like the Rainstorms, the Fog, the Light Sprinkles, the Flakes (as in snow), or maybe the Quarter-sized Hail.

Yes, remember Wheaton (Illinois) changed their name from Crusaders to Thunder, all the wins under the offensive name should be vacated.

My wife was on a team of 50-something women. I thought they should call themselves the "middle-aged dribblers" but she didn't go for that one.

So much for Cabrini.   Morrisville played Messiah well last year... Can they upset Amherst?

Just FYI Carthage changed from the "Redmen" with a logo that had a feather connotation to a Native American headdress, to the "Red Men" referring to their uniform color and changed their logo.

It helped - they just took the lead at ONU 2-1

Oh, well that's different.   Never mind.
