I usually try to be objective on these boards, but this one's a homer post - Brandeis absolutely deserved to win that game, and thankfully they did. Had RPI emerged victorious, it would have been as clear of a case of daylight robbery as you could find. We all know that RPI didn't even deserve to be in the NCAA Tournament, but the Judges had a goal waved off for offsides (which was questionable), they hit the post twice, and had numerous other opportunities. Not to mention the ref was awful. Oh man. Regardless of Brandeis' inability to score - which was apparent in this game - RPI shouldn't have even been in the question. Judges will face a tougher test in the Sweet 16 against a Trinity side that beat them 2-0 back in September.

Think how Stevens feels.  Two goals called off, the second on an incredibly questionable call, and then a penalty kick when the ball was first spotted outside the box but, after screaming by the RPI sideline, and consultation with the sideline assistant who was much farther away from the play, the center ref moved the ball to the spot.  Brandeis totally dominated the game, more so than Stevens, who also dominated RPI.  Some of the worst refereeing in those two games that I have seen.  I still feel badly for Middlebury, Colorado College, Brockport, and any of the other teams that were passed over for RPI even though RPI was able to take two excellent teams to overtime.

Official hosts: Haverford, Amherst, Kenyon, Loras.

Gotta say I'm surprised it's not at F&M, but not completely shocked.

Makes perfect sense by seed.  And is Kenyon borrowing OWU field??  That also would make sense, as weird as that will be.

Pretty sure that's just a typo based off of Kenyon's website.

Also 11 and 1:30 on Friday? Who decided on those times?!?

Kenyon website says at Gambier with games at 11:00 and 1:30.  Wow.  Very surprised they would play early games on a Friday.

Does the Kenyon field have lights?

haverfords field is horrible for NCAA quality games... played there a few years back and it was a close game because of the field. I would like to also see loras have to play away in the tournament for once.

No lights....that's why 11:00 and 1:30 times and why I thought Kenyon would not host for a Fri/Sat sectional.

So MSU was a lock because they have soooooooo much fire power????  Hahahahaha.

I don't think anyone called MSU a lock, but were definitely a popular pick.   That's what you get for trying to absorb pressure and not execute to your normal style...

oldford

The Haverford field (Walton) was completely redone with a new surface this past summer. Should be much better for play.

did not know that. I apologize. I may have to make the 45 minute drive up to haverford to watch the elite 8 game on shnday

Loras earns their host position because of their regional ranking and very high SOS.  Step up and play quality out of conference teams and good things happen. Facilities and location are also factors in them hosting,  but those are secondary.

I didn't mean that in an offensive way, I just want to see how they do away. once they get to the final four they have a tendency to not win on away/neutral fields.

The last time Tufts conceded 3 goals in a game was 10/1/2011 vs Amherst... Impressive.

MSU was knocking on that door, but couldn't open it.

Tufts vs Kenyon will be a classic.

I can see oneonta making not to KC without even conceding a goal. They shut down a two time all American who crushed every goal scoring  record at RUC. They did not allow him to have a single shot all game. watch out people this team is legit

Not offended, the last 2 final 4 matches (2012 & 2013) were both OT losses. 2012 to Messiah in one of the best, fast paced matches in DIII history. 2013 to Rutgers-Camden on a fluke goal from 55 yds with 30 mph winds.

I know their history... what I was saying was that when they get to final four they have yet to make it to the championship game.

Can't argue with that.  My point of view was that out of their four Final 4 appearances they have gone to PK's once and OT twice so it's not like they can't play outside of the Rock Bowl.

Kenyon will be favored and Tufts will have to bring their A game, but then again, playing on the road hasn't seemed th hamper then at all....
