Loras goes up 1-0 on the Duhawks first attack of the game! Wow! 8:23 in. Rummelhard redirected a muffed shot past Bull. Looks like he was onsides from the replay. I actually missed it because I was checking on my pizza in the oven...d'oops...but I saw the replay right after, so can't complain. Who would have guessed that Loras would score first, and that early? Not me for sure.

Good quality finish off the corner for Amherst.

Terrible, absolutely terrible positioning on the post for Loras.

Seriously.  What's the point of standing on the post if you're just going to leave a gap anyways?

Good finish by Lenhart. Can't go to sleep on set pieces against Amherst.

are teams playing soccer or direct

blooter442

Direct, but definitely a lot more wide open than most would have predicted. Both teams have had good chances in addition to the goals.

Both teams are playing extremely direct, Amherst is playing better soccer out of it. Lots of overlapping runs from the wingers that are confusing the Duhawk's man marking system. With that said, Loras is getting good opportunities off of counters and big balls.

Loras has saved two off the line and they are getting the majority of the calls.

Peterson with a HUUUGGEEE save while laying on the ground. Amherst missed a sitter.

The only way to beat Amherst is not to give up fouls. Loras will lose if they keep giving up fouls. Only a matter of time before the Lord Jeffs get one.

This is some entertaining footy

Agree with Swan, BUT, how do you not give up fouls against Amherst???!!!  Catch-22.  You have to play physical try to match them and not let Amherst steamroll you.  Amazingly few fouls called in Amherst.  I think refs get tired of calling them on Amherst and Lord Jeffs have little to lose when they give away free kicks because they are so big.  And any free kick inside of 85 yards for Amherst is like a good final 3rd free kick for any other team.  Amherst is just too damn big!  And Loras is not small by any means but those double and triple header flicks in the box for Amherst are too much to handle.  What position is Lehnhart playing???  He takes every throw from both sides.  He's everywhere.  MVP for me if Amherst wins.  Simon and Irwin for Loras will have to have flawless 2nd half.  Bradley will need a moment of magic.

Agree.  VERY entertaining game.  Hopefully posters will limit the silly complaints about style.

What a beautiful finish from Amherst!

Wow - Loras was starting to get some momentum before that goal

How well does Loras play from behind?
