Looking at the list I am surprised to not see some big name schools on here.

Montclair State, Etown, Lycoming, Dickinson, Eastern, Rowan, Swat, Muhlenberg, Salisbury, Middlebury, Gordon, Oneonta State, Loras just to name a few.

Any information on any of these schools? I would be very surprised if none of them had any top recruits.

That's fine but all will release their respective classes closer to the summertime. All of these are just here say or from TopDrawerSoccer.com. We know most of Messiah's for example because they are publicly listed on other websites but they are not listed on Messiah's athletic website yet. So my main point was that I am surprised we haven't heard about any recruits going to those top programs I listed like we have for the others that are on the big list. And my mistake on Muhlenberg...I overlooked them on the list but I now see they have 2 listed.

Some coaches just do not publicize or care to punlicize their recruits to the different sites. Just ask New England supporters of D1's like UCONN and BC..Ray Reid and Ed Kelly are notorious for not releasing any recruits until the last possible day

Thanks as always to yurmama for the updates.  I know we're barely scratching the surface of all the new commitments nationwide, but we should learn more as the club listings begin to be publicized.

+k Ommadawn....Excellent work with the links....Much thanks for the hard work...

Mr.Right

TONS of Bolts players committed to many New England schools and Nescac's....Any comments on these players or has anyone seen them live..I plan on catching 3-4 games this spring when it gets warm out but jw

FC Copas Brett Rojas who committed to Tufts is a baller. This kid can score from anywhere and is very technical when he plays CAM.

I'm sure he received some D1 attention but that's when you decide if you want to be a top level D3 player or a normal D1 talent. there are many other factors but I think he will do better with tufts

Heard he was looked at by Navy and Bucknell but all rumor and I don't know how much truth is behind any of that but just what I heard. Heard he was also, obviously, recruited heavily by multiple local D3 schools in MD, NJ, and PA.

Thanks for the + karma, Mr. Right!  I wouldn't ordinarily come back with another update so soon, but this one is chock full of DAP commitments.  With the two 2015 finalists well-represented, the rich get richer!

J. Groothoff is a good player in what little I saw of him. Moved from CA to Yarmouth, ME this year. Not sure if he would have been a "Messiah-level" player in the 2012-2013 era, but he is a solid kid with a good upside and could be part of the Falcons' resurgence. Quick, skilled, a good striker. Not the most physical given his stature, but then again not every striker is supposed to have the physicality of Greg Singer, and I think he makes up for it with his speed.

No idea how his talent will stack up, but this article let's me know that Groothoff is the type of kid I'll be happy to have at Messiah: http://www.pressherald.com/2015/09/14/groothoff-brothers-join-clippers-ship/

Nice article. It has to be a fact that Home schooled kids are so much more MATURE than other kids. What they may lack in social skills or the need to "catch up" they make up for in maturity and humility. Just a vague generalization but it usually sticks...What is this kid's size? He looks to be a touch small but I am sure very skilled and pacey. I am starting to believe the world of D3 soccer is changing and after watching Messiah multiple times last year they might and probably are taking a "deep" look into what needs to change in the coming years. The obvious answer is they need a GK and one that can step in and play right away. I do not know the inner workings of this side so maybe their starting GK was injured last year but his replacement from what I saw should not be a starting GK at I would venture to guess he would not be starting for many TOP D3 programs. I also think they need maybe 1 or 2 more physical players. In years past if what lacked in Mid field in physicality they more than made up for with skill and speed. I would like to see some "toughness" in midfield mixed with skill. When I tuned in to watch Messiah I thought they lacked that killer instinct they had the past 10 years. Sometimes these type of players can change a game you are losing to get everyone "up" after a crunching tackle. Maybe I was watching Williams to much last year and got the sides confused.

Recruiting classes starting to take shape. They should be finalized and published on the team websites by the end of March or early April. Excited to see what teams are bringing in who. The list on the website with commitments is nice and helpful but definitely not the full picture of what all the schools are doing.

Spring season is also right around the corner. Anybody know any of their respective schools spring game schedule?

Falconer

Another incoming player for Messiah is Cooper Robbins, younger brother of both former Falcon Carter Robbins (multiple-year AA central defender) and current Falcon Kirby Robbins (MF-target).

I'm slightly puzzled why he isn't actually written about in the first link, which lists Greensboro-area all stars--since he's the only player pictured, and right under the headline. His teammate Malik Ibrahim (just a sophomore but also All-state) is listed, and perhaps Ibrahim is considered to be even better than Robbins, though I have no information about Ibrahim that would justify saying that. Anyway, Robbins might be the single most talented incoming recruit for Messiah. Some regard him as better than his AA brother Carter Robbins, which is saying something (someone on this board who saw him play in the Final Four said that Carter Robbins was better than anyone in the NESCAC). Anyway, he's likely to start at central defender this fall. Sometimes freshmen do start for Messiah, but it's not the norm, regardless of how good a player is. In recent years, Jack Thompson (now playing professionally, and probably the single most dangerous player the Falcons have had since Kasiguran, despite being snubbed in the AA voting) started his first season; so did Danny Brandt (no longer at Messiah). This past season, however, four freshman started many of the games and sometimes also a fifth. I think the Falcons are likely to return to the tournament this fall, despite the fact that Lycoming had no seniors on their whole roster. They will have (we hope) a healthy Colby Thomas, a very strong incoming class, and 3 sophomores who were regional HS AAs in different parts of the country.
