EJay's prediction:
Susquehanna upsets Catholic 2-1 with a late game winner
Drew takes Elizabethtown 2-1 in OT

I'm wondering if the grass field at Etown throws Drew off enough for Etown to get a win.

I will go Etown over Drew 1-0 in OT and Catholic 2-0 over Susquehanna....although, I could see Susquehanna shocking Catholic at home. The only time Juniata made it into the Landmark tourney, they were 4 and went to Catholic and upset them 3-1. Defend well wide and get in behind their outside backs.

Drew is home on turf against Elizabethtown

Not the first, nor last time I will be wrong.

Love this....The world would be such a much better place if we were wrong more often and more importantly able to say so.

Well, I got the playoff seeding wrong for the CC and mistakenly thought Hopkins was on the road earlier this year.

Do I get credit!?

:D

Absolutely....Henceforth, you will be known as Mr.Wrong.

At half-time in the Landmark, we have:

0-0 between the Other Jays vs. Drew
2-0 Catholic up on The Mighty Susquehana. (sorry, i say that every time I go over the Millerd E. Tiding Bridge.)

The lighting in Drew is... spooky?

Not gonna SimpleCoach it, but I'm into this game.

* These are two pretty evenly matched teams (meaningless comment?)
* Decent skill, so I'll stick with it... Though some of the giveaways would DRIVE.ME.NUTS as a coach. Just.. focus, man.
* I got recruited by Drew pretty heavily, which was weird (I'm a MD guy). Coach called multiple times and I almost went there because of this.
* This commentator is on point. Not ground-breaking, but he understands the game. Some of the folks calling these games simply don't understand the rules. (Looking at you Peidmont.)
* Huh. Getting a little D3-grindy. Just a lot of choppy play. Not a lot of purpose to this from either team. Gonna probably stop with the bullets and see where this goes.

BTW, the Bishops up 3-0.

Woof at this point. Drew is putting more of a stamp on this game, but they are not a very disciplined team. They need to value the ball more. Driving me a little nuts, frankly.

And I'm predisposed to think Etown is better than they are given when I played them. They are very average. I'm not trying to be a jerk (it comes naturally), but they really don't seem to have a plan.

Triple WOOF. A goal from Drew off a CK. Bodied the goalie and it floated backpost. As a goalie, I have to say, they are letting way too much go on in the box these days. If a guy stands in my 3 yard circle and then bumps me on CK, I'm totally screwed.

Hopkins Walk-On

Gettysburg and Swarthmore headed to overtime. Swat scored with about 18 mins left on a nice cross to an uncovered forward who headed it cleanly into the goal. Gettysburg struck back quickly though when the Swat GK badly misplayed a long throw-in from Gettysburg. After a scramble in front of the goal, Gettysburg knocked it in.

Unless G'burg can get more long throw-ins, I can't see how they score.

Hopkins Walk-On

I was close. It wasn't a long throw-in but a corner kick. G'burg scores a few minutes into overtime and will play JHU on Friday. Tough way to lose.

LetteroftheLaw

I went to the Catholic vs Susquehanna game last night in DC.
Couple observations:
- Early converted PK (7th minute) for Catholic really set the tone for them.
- Sloppy game possession-wise which isn't particularly unusual for a Landmark semi.
- Catholic seemed to win the majority of 50/50 balls and were really going after Susquehanna all night. The outside mids really had a lot of joy running free and getting balls into dangerous areas.
- Catholic's center backs concern me moving forward, something that I think Drew might be able to expose.
- Catholic has a lot of talented young players. Two freshman scored beautiful goals last night and multiple other underclassmen saw a lot of time.
- It was surprising to see Susquehanna get shutout, they had the most GF in the Landmark this season and were not really dangerous at all last night.
- I get the sense Catholic is playing their best at the right time of year.

Hoping to get to the final this Saturday, should be a good atmosphere and a competitive game. I think Drew will come in and try to make things messy but I like Catholic to win their league-leading 5th Landmark title.

Respectfully, I don't really understand the point of these. The "insight" that we can gather is what they ranked these teams today. (Messiah-F&M-Hopkins etc.)

I'm not giving you grief, but I don't understand the point of the exercise.

paclassic89

The point is the process is not transparent.  There's been discussion on the board in the past about the over-reliance on SoS, so it's just another perspective.  Feel free to ignore them.  There is also no indication in the current regional rankings about the distance between the teams in the rankings.   Just trying to break up the convo between the same 5 people who post on this board  ;)

Interesting use of a smiley face when you are taking (potentially valid) shots.

I'm legitimately curious, what are you implying? I'm a novice of the politics of D3 soccer, so I'm very curious about the transparency issue.
