Scranton takes the 1-0 lead on Catholic!  Another upset brewing

stlawus

Catholic's in the danger zone if they drop this one.

paclassic89

I don't necessarily see this happening but if Catholic loses this game, Drew has a small chance of leap frogging them in the final rankings.   Which is pretty crazy considering they didn't even make the Landmark playoffs

Bro!

Are you not meticulously following my rambling posts?!  :D

It was a nice goal, somewhat against the run of play. I thought Catholic would pull level, but Scranton has picked up their intensity.

Meanwhile, E-town-Goucher is a barnburner. Those guys are going. at. it.

Ahh sorry haha.  Your post was the last one on page 113 for me and I missed it.   Catholic missed 2 absolute sitters in the 2nd half so far from what i've seen.  And agreed on the Etown game,  just getting the field level sound adds a little extra to it.  Lots of whining about calls from both sides though  ;D

Etown-Gooch going to OT.

Telling you, tune in, this is very fun to watch. (Not the best quality, but these guys want this win, both sides. Spicy.)

Ref has been a little uneven, to be fair. Not that he's jobbing anyone, but he's let a lot of stuff go.

The Goucher goalie is playing like a man possessed - and he has been very busy. If Goucher can get enough pressure on the E-town goalie, they might steal a cheap one.

Right?

In my rambling, I noted that around the 19th minute of the match, he made a highlight reel save. He made about 6 other saves and came off his line like a champ. I got some grief for giving the York goalie grief this year (not really, but just saying)...

This dude isn't the Eastern keeper from last year, but he's up there.

Scranton with the 1-0 win in DC. That's impressive.

Gotta root for Goucher for maximum Landmark chaos.  It doesn't take much for me to root against Etown anyway lol

Back in the day (when Goucher was an all-girls college), I dated a girl from Goucher. +1 for Goucher.

Back in the day, we lost to E'town. -1 for E'town.

NEPAFAN

congrats to the royals, onto this etown-goucher match..

You guys are cracking me up.

But, yeah, it's weird for the oldheads that Goucher even has a team. As I mentioned in one of my rambles, this is pretty clearly the best season in quite some time for Goucher. A win tonight would put them on 10 wins. I don't want to go farther back, but I'd be shocked if that's not their best season in program history. Hell, 9, might already hit the mark.

Whats the deal with the cut of the field?  Intentional?

I spent my evening watching the Catholic-Scranton game.  Catholic demonstrated why I think they are unimaginative, lacking in creativity, and soccer challenged.  All it takes to beat them is an organized and disciplined team... like Scranton tonight.
