MAC Commonwealth
Messiah  12pts (Stevenson, Widener, Albright)
York     7 pts (Albright, Stevenson, Hood)
Widener  7 pts (Hood, Messiah, Eastern)
Alvernia 6 pts (Eastern, Hood, Stevenson)
----------------------------------------
Stevenson 5 pts (Messiah, York, Alvernia)
Eastern   4 pts (Alvernia, Albright, Widener)
Hood      3 pts (Widener, Alvernia, York)
Albright  1 pt  (York, Eastern, Messiah)

With 3 games left, a lot still to play for in this conference. Stevenson with a murderer's row. Any of those teams in the 6, 5, 4 point slots are going to be in trouble if they tie this weekend. The rumors of Messiah's demise are decidedly premature. After tying Lycoming, they have racked up 5 straight wins, most of them in pretty dominating fashion. And while the 2-1 win in Frederick is a bit of head scratcher, Messiah outshot Hood 21-11 and had the Falcons had 6 corners to the ... (checks notes) Blazers(?) had 3.

Hood at home is a surprisingly/oddly tough place to play. Messiah had to dig out a 1-0 win there back in 2017 (National Championship year).

Besides the point--MAC Commonwealth has become a lot more competitive/fun to watch in recent years as it is no longer simply a Messiah/Lyco or Messiah/York dual.

More teams to compete=more fun

Hopkins Walk-On

Hopkins has been fortunate to face its top challengers in the Centennial this year at home:
F&M, Washington College, and Dickinson have all been or will be home games for the Jays.

For a variety of reasons, I'm going to be up near Haverford this weekend. Wife is also a proud alum and soccer fan, so we'll be attending the game.

The nice thing about this conference is that a bunch of schools are located in really nice leaf peeping zones. We may not be the NEWMAC or NESCAC on the "pretty drive" scale, but the Centennial has some very nice foliage.

PA has some of the best! Enjoy

I've made the drive out Rt 80 a few times recently. Definitely enjoy those late season games.

Sounds like some drama occurred in the F&M-Gettysburg game. https://x.com/davemchugh/status/1850388997157073087      McHugh is most assuredly a neutral and unbiased commentator, so something was definitely said.

Speaking of things being said by F&M, if you check the box score of the F&M v Swat game on 9/28, F&M has a player receive a red card at 90 minutes.  Watching the stream I couldn't see any fights or scuffles after the full time whistle blew.  Pure speculation but something might have been said.  The player missed 2 games.  This went unnoticed at the time

Yup pure speculation.

What was the red card for then?  Normal red is 1 game suspension

Was thinking of making a long response. Really only wanted to say that McHugh's tweet was really, really odd. IMO, seems thin skinned. Parents aren't objective and why would he think they would be.

Not everyone will like his announcing style. I've heard him announce two F&M games plus several others including JHU's. I generally find him alright, but a little grating (getting excited when nothing really happens and too much commentating at times which make me mute the sound). Not to extent of Leb Valley, or, in the past, Haverford though.

I do like the Tufts' student announcer.
