The AEC conference (Neumann, Wesley, Cabrini, etc) is Pool B eligible.  There is a total of 17 teams with only one earning a bid.  This year it's going to be UW-Platteville.

The remaining pool of 16 teams are then Pool C eligible.

I need to check the access ratio ... I think it's 9:1 roughly (though, it can change in different sports). That's close a second pick, though I know the handbook says it is just one pick each.

Interesting, if two picks, then Cabrini and Neumann will be in the mix:

UW-Whitewater..........9-5-1 / 0-3 RvR / .532 SOS / Remaining games of Finlandia, Augustana, UW-Platteville
Neumann..................9-4-2 / H2H W over Cabrini / 0-3 RvR / .514 SOS
Cabrini....................10-6-1 / 1-2 RvR / .511 SOS

UW-W should finish, at worst, 11-6-1 with an SOS greater than both Neumann/Cabrini, and more RvR

Quote2018 Allocation of Berths

Men's Tournament

Pool A    No. of Automatic Qualifying Conferences    42 berths
Pool B    No. of Pool B teams / Pool A access ratio      1 berth
      17 / (393/42) = 10 / 9.36 = 1.82
Pool C    Field size - Pool A berths - Pool B berths    19 berths
      62 - 42 - 1 = 19

Women's Tournament

Pool A    No. of Automatic Qualifying Conferences    43 berths
Pool B    No. of Pool B teams / Pool A access ratio      1 berths
      19 / (416/43) = 12 / 9.67 = 1.96
Pool C    Field size - Pool A berths - Pool B berths    20 berths
      64 - 43 - 1 = 20

The crazy thing ... numbers that close have been known to be rounded up in the past. But that has been inconsistent to say the least.

Falconer

Hood leading Lyco, 2-1, with 3 minutes remaining. The score reflects the difference in intensity with which each team has played. Both teams have had some chances, but Hood in general seems more committed to getting a result. IMO, if the score stands, Lyco is finished unless they win the conference tournament.

Falconer

Hood wins. This was a clinic on how to play dump and run ineffectively. Neither side made much effort to possess, though Hood tried to do so more than Lyco. Surely Lyco missed Sinclair Tueno, who earned himself a red in the previous game vs LVC.

Flying Weasel

Unfortunately for LVC, they still are stuck travelling to Lyco for their semifinal because of the head-to-head loss.

Swat gutted after ref awards what looked like weak handball call to Haverford with 3 min left.  Of course Swat had the lead on a PK as well.  Going OT now.

JHU with nice come from behind win over Dickinson, 3-2.  That may do it for the Red Devils, but who knows, Dickinson every year seems to be the Emory of the Mid-Atlantic.

Fords pull it out in the second OT.  And Swat's season is done, as Gettysburg takes the last slot in the Centennial playoffs.

Haverford wins in 2nd OT, and most likely just punched a NCAA ticket.

And Cairn drops to Wilson (3-9-3) in PKs today.

Wilson plays Keystone (11-4) for the CSAC Final and NCAA AQ.

I cannot fathom a 3 or 4 win team in field, but it's definitely possible...

Badly called game between Swat and Haverford.  Both PK calls were questionable.  But Haverford clearly dominated in 2nd half. Swat had nothing left in OTs; Haverford, who played 4 games in 8 days gutted out the win.

Dickinson is young and talented.  Very grabby and needs a lot of coaching.  Could be a Centennial Conference power in the future.

Wilson's men's program is only 4 years old too.  Keystone should win easily but anything can happen!

Wilson has a pretty good goal keeper.  Against Cairn, he stopped everything.  Keystone just has to get one goal to win the game.
