From the box score it looks like Messiah and Hood were tied for most of the game. Did anybody watch this? Was the game as close as the score indicates? It looks like they pulled away in the last 15 minutes but up until that point it was a tie game with the edge in the box score going to the Falcons.

Gettysburg and JHU both sneaking out important wins. I am sure there were some line up changes to keep both teams fresh for conference but anybody watch those games as well? Both seem too close for the opponents they faced. Lyco and Stevens both pick up wins as well.

History tells us with that many Centennial teams ranked if it stays like that they could get 3-4 Pool C's because they should have more games against ranked opponents and probably more ranked wins. Same with the East Region. The East has 5 LL teams and 3 SUNYAC teams and that is it. Only 2 conferences ranked throughout the whole region means those two conferences will see all the East Pool C's if it stays

I just watched highlights of the Hop game and going by the recap and the video evidence, Hop was down 1-0 at half and needed a goal fairly deep in the second half to pull it off. Pretty good chance they were not all that fired up about a non-conference game against a middling opponent.

(The team formerly known as Western Maryland College) McDaniel takes down the Fords 1-0 on a late PK for their first win at Haverford since 2009.  Gives Swat some life in the CC standings.

I watched most of this one on a field-level stream that wasn’t very clear. I often say that a game was closer than the score, but this time I would say just the opposite: the score was far closer than the game. To their credit, Hood converted the only two chances they had—one a header off a corner, the second a brilliant breakaway off a turnover that led to a great save followed by a second shot into the net. That second goal was as pretty as anything Nick West had last year, except it came from the Falcons’ opponent. Both goals came in quick response to Falcon goals, so the game was tied for long stretches.

Nevertheless, with those two loud exceptions, the Falcons utterly dominated on the field of play. Four different men scored, starting with a lovely shot from outside the box by Luke Groothoff, who took maybe 10 shots in all, at least half on frame. If you’re a Falcon fan, your concern is that something like that second goal never happens again—and honestly it’s been a very long time since I’ve seen something similar. The steal took place around midfield, and very quickly the ball was played with perfection on the ground in between the CBs to a flying forward who went in alone on goal. If it had been at the other end of the field, you’d have credited the quality but not been surprised, since that’s the type of thing that Messiah does now and then. But, you just never see it on the defensive side. Hat’s off to Hood for pulling it off.

Watching a bunch of the Etown-Moravian tilt:

- The field is GARBAGE.

That's all I got right now.

GARBAGE. SHAMEFUL.

Etown is going to win 5 to 2 in a game that was actually a good deal closer for 60 mins. That said, when a team puts a team away... They should get full credit. (Part of my point is that I thought Moravian was a tough out..)

Catholic handled Goucher. 2 or 3 nothing, I'm too lazy to check, but that's a game with a MASSIVE talent differential.  Edit to add: I watched chunks of this game, which is where the talent differential comes from.

Etowns field has been awful all season and hasn't been great for a few years now.  I'm not sure if it's overuse or grounds keeping incompetence or what but it's a shame because it used to be quite nice.  At least it's not turf.

Hopkins92

I played on their field eons ago, but it seems like it's in a new location now. Just watching the feed, you could see that the players were literally sinking into the turf... you couldn't see their shoes when they were standing still.

Players were fairly regularly replacing 1-2 ft divots, especially late in the game.
