Yep surviving 90 mins at right back against Jack Thompson as a freshmen was probably one of the top accomplishments of my college career. I remember everyone walked off that field raving about how good Brian Ramirez was. The field at Muhlenberg was an insult to cow patches and he didn't misplace a touch the entire game. We just couldn't even get near him.

Falconer mentioned Hayden Woodworth. I was humbled by him more than once over the stretch we played against one another. I was happy just to continue my playing career in college and wasn't anywhere near the caliber of player that would have been associated with a team chasing a national title. Looking back I was happy I had the chance to play against those sides that won national championships even though it wasn't very enjoyable at that time.

Of those games, Gburg is another good conference test for Hop and Etown-CAU is a good barometer for the Other Blue Jays.

I've only seen a handful of Messiah matches through the years, but the player that stands out for me (sample size: one game) was Kai Kasiguran. Messiah hosted a first-weekend NCAA match, and he just dominated.
Yes, Kai is my personal choice for the single greatest Falcon player ever. He isn't the only legitimate candidate for that distinction, but IMO his skill set was dazzling—and he knew how to use it from his very first start as a FR. It took his teammates maybe half a season to realize how good he actually was, such that they began to trust his ability to get the ball to them almost anywhere, by making passes most other players literally didn't dream of making. Once they caught on, they were a juggernaut all four years. Nagging injuries resulted in a situation where he was probably half a step down in his SR season, but he was still a formidable player who could beat anyone single-handedly, as it were. Even though he wasn't a top scorer, no Falcon scorer was better at creating his own shot out of nothing, or setting up a teammate for a goal. Today, he's a very successful accountant in the Philly area (last I heard).

Dickinson has absolutely nothing to lose at 0-6.  I would not want to be F&M.

Wow. Too early for a full run down (obviously), but Ursinus knocks off Washington, 2-1 in 2OT. Messiah cruising against York, 2-0 deep into second half.

I don't think Ursinus is at risk for winning the Centennial or anything but results for the Bears thus far surpass anything I can recall in more than a decade...maybe longer?

Yeah, I'm no historian but just knocking off a Top 25 team is likely a first. Flipped through their record starting in 2010 and they have season wins of 2, 3, 5, 8(!), 6, 2, 4, 2, 0 and 5. They are currently sitting on 6 wins.

Hopkins Walk-On

I was at the Hopkins-Gettysburg game. Hopkins was missing their senior center back due to injury. Gettysburg tried to press hard as Hopkins followed its usual practice of playing out of the back. There were several dicey moments in the first half as the lack of an experienced center back showed. The GK also made some poor decisions on outlet passes.

Hopkins has a series of beautiful passes right up the middle 7 mins in that produced the first goal. Otherwise, game was reasonably tight for the rest of the first half. In the second half, Gettysburg wore down and couldn't keep up the press. Hopkins also played over the top more. Eventually, Hopkins' skill and speed won out and Gettysburg wasn't much of a threat besides corner kicks and long throw-ins.

I am a day early  :)

MAF Top 10 (Week 5)
1. Messiah (7-0-2) The Falcons look like they are in post-season form as they blank Lyco and York back to back. An interesting tilt next with Leb Val
2. Hopkins (7-0-2) The Blue Jays remain unbeaten in conference play after dismantling Gettysburg over the weekend
3. F&M (8-1-0) The Diplomats are on a 4 game win streak and remain near the top
4. Swarthmore (7-2-0) The Garnet are also on a 4 game win streak and remain in the top 5
5. Leb Val (8-1-0) The Dutchmen have rattled off 3 in a row since losing at Lyco. Messiah awaits this weekend
6. Wash College (7-3-0) The Shoremen continue to remain in good shape
7. Eastern (7-1-2) The Eagles went 0-1-2 in their tough 3 game stretch but are back to winning ways before they start conference
8. Gettysburg (5-3-1) The Bullets have dropped 2 of their last 3 and are in danger of missing the conference tournament after a strong non-conference showing
9. Lycoming (5-3-2) The Warriors continue to hang around after dropping a tough matchup at Messiah
10. Etown (6-2-1) The Blue Jays got blanked by Leb Val but bounced back with a nice conference win over Catholic

RV:
Misericordia (6-1-0) The Cougars pick up 2 more wins and secured shutouts in both contests as they linger near the top 10
Stevens (5-4-1) The Ducks dropped 2 in a row, which forces them outside the top 10 for the first time all year
Catholic (5-3-1) The Cardinals fail to pick up a win over the past week

Dropped Out:
Scranton (3-2-3) The Royals have scored just 1 goal in the last 4 games and are trending down
Muhlenberg (4-4-1) The Muhles have lost 4 in a row....
