Having swung through and watched snippets of a lot of these games, but just about the entire Hopkins match... As mentioned by Walkon, the Bullets were a pretty game squad on Saturday. Hopkins got the early goal, but after that, there wasn't much difference btwn the two. Second goal was pretty late in the game, a little fluky, and slightly against the run of play (IMO).

I don't have time to go through the rest, just wanted to flag those two. Goucher looks like a decent squad and the turf is going to be quite slick, but that should still be a comfortable W for Hop.

Albright just gave up 7 goals on the weekend, so... That is going to be a potential bloodbath and will give everyone a chance to revisit the "running up the score" and "Christian values" debate going on in other threads. :D

Messiah last played Albright April 15, 2021 and beat them 9-1.

Alvernia may give Eastern a game, but I think the others are all pretty straightforward (with apologies to NEPAFAN).

Just popping over here to post UPSET ALERT: Alvernia up 1-0 middle of 2nd half.

ETA - That's a wrap, 2-0. That's a tough loss at home.

Thanks for the scoop on the match!  Alvernia gets a late PK to salt it away 2-0.

Hopkins Walk-On

Hopkins wins 4-0 vs.the Gooch. Game was 0-0 at half although Hop had 9 shots on goal to 0 for Goucher. Hopkins sat their starting GK and center backs. Not much worthy of comment. Goucher GK played very well until he was pulled once it got out of hand.

Tuesday results:

Hopkins 4 - 0 Goucher
Messiah 3 -1 Albright
Swat 2 - 0 PSU-A
LVC 4 - 1 Widener
Alvernia 2-0 Eastern

Couple of notes from my "red zone" viewing of tonight.

* Hopkins started their back-up goalie, which I think is really smart of Appleby. Overall, Hopkins really dominated this game, but it was tied 0-0 at half time.
* Messiah dominated, but I think Albright did a great job "manning up" tonight. Also, and I don't mean to be a jerk, but the Albright keeper... Couldn't punt? It was hard to watch. That said, he made a bunch of really good saves, and that's only in the limited time I was tuned in.
* Swat game was a TUSSLE. It was 1-0 until 2 minutes left when they scored the clincher. Weirdly, the feed game them two goals on that second goal, which was very confusing (showing 3-0, but it was 2-0, obvi).
* Not much to say about the LVC - Widener game. Taking care of business is important, as we all know.

Good stuff. I caught part of the Swat game. It really wasn't much of a tussle: the final score was correct, 3-0 from a penalty midway through the second half. Shots were something like 24-1, 6-0 on corners. Once again the Centennial is wide open, save for Hop which is, from what I've seen, the best team in the conference. Without further out-of-conference blemishes, F&M, Swat, Washington and (perhaps) Gettysburg have a shot at NCAA berths, assuming Hopkins wins the conference. Chances for a national title from the Centennial looks remote to me: I haven't seen the speed or skill to compete with the best play-it-right teams (like Messiah, Chicago, NYU) or the bang-n-smash athletes from the NESCAC. Now the task is to stay healthy and fit through the end of October.

Hopkins92

Thanks for the clarification on the Swat game... And I will, of course, defer to your assessment. I was 75 percent watching Hopkins and Messiah, to be honest.
