    • F&M and Gettysburg both score in the second half and draw 1-1 in a game that was statistically even.

I was at the Gettysburg-F&M game and while statistically 1-1, F&M dominated, especially in the second half.  Like many of their games, they got very close to the second goal. The first half was a wash for both teams. F&M's coaches made some great adjustments at the half.  If you were to watch the game, watch the second half.

I am pretty sure Gettysburg did not good coming out of that game. The goal they got was off a long throw with the ball ping ponging around.  The F&M had a very nice goal, but couldn't finish on other opportunities.

Like JHU, they can't rely on only scoring one goal a game.  If JHU and F&M both win out in the Cent. Conf., the last game of the season could be epic. Winner takes all and gets the semis and final at home. If tied, JHU would take the conference.

While the game as statistically even I felt Gettysburg dominated the 1st half, particularly the mid-field, while the 2nd half favored F&M.   However, I felt Gettysburg was more threatening throughout the match and had more quality opportunities.

IMO it should have minimal impact either way. Doesn't hurt them but won't help them.

Thank you for sharing this.  Coach Scheffey is a friend of mine and York College is to travel to Messiah tomorrow.  Please keep these young men in your prayers as they each deal with the passing of their teammate.

A watch that I'm on which I'm on an island is Widener, particularly their striker Sean Fatiga. He scored the lone goal against Eastern to pull his number to 6Gs on the year. I'll keep banging this drum: After starting the season 0-3, the Pride are now on a 6-1 runner with the lone loss to Stevens. Not sure it's sustainable, but that's impressive.

Widener ties Leb Valley to stay atop the MAC-C (7pts) ahead of Messiah (6pts) but the Falcons have a game in hand. No goal for Fatiga.

I can not speak on Fatiga but I think McDonald's 12 goals and 1 assist is not too bad

Yep, I was singing his praises earlier. Love watching that dude play.

For Widener, the offense pretty much runs through Fatiga so it's a lot easier for teams to double him to try to take him out of the game.  Messiah has such a strong team that you can't game plan around just shutting down Macdonald and focusing on him will leave you exposed.  He's a clinical finisher and has one of the highest work rates I've seen in a D3 striker but playing on Messiah helps the numbers a bit

    Falconer

Messiah dominated a good York side tonight, generating half a dozen great shots resulting in four goals, while York almost scored on a rocket off the crossbar. The first goal came off a spectacular drive by backup OB Caleb Aldridge, who beat 3 defenders in succession and took it all the way into the box, passing at close range to an open Josh Bratager. The videos of each goal on the Falcon website are already up: be sure to watch this one and the brilliant goal by Matt MacDonald with his left foot. The announcers think it was really an own goal, but it looked to me (live) and still looks (video) that Matt somehow beat the keeper and two defenders to the ball.

The Falcons continue to play with great pace and precision, unlike any other team (Falcon or otherwise) I've seen for many years. Maybe Chicago is better—their record is no less impressive on paper—but, I think this is the best Falcon team in many years, and it's hard to imagine anyone slowing them down.

McDonald definitely got his right foot on that goal. But I gotta say, that York keeper was pretty suspect on all those goals.  Would love to hear what SC and Hopkins92 have to say.

Wouldn't expect the keeper to stop goal #1 point blank shot from 10 yards out, #2 (Keeper came off his line so so late and had he been on his toes could have easily beaten everyone to the ball), and #3(Someone I forget, shot it from where the end line meets the 18 from the right side. Not sure if the keeper didn't expect it but also a very easy shot to stop for most keepers) were extremely suspect. Wouldn't expect to see that type of luck against better keepers in the offseason. #4 was a solid header from Leitzel.

If I'm his coach and we're looking back...

1st goal...  Did you have your feet set? Were you able to square up to the ball at all... Kinda looks like you were still almost sideways right as the shot was taken... With that said, that's a pinball situation and I'm not gonna mark you down too much on that one. You just have to keep moving your feet...

2nd goal... You gotta know your opponent. The bald guy has a jet pack strapped to his back... If you're gonna come off your line, you absolutely have to be there first. You were not, because jet pack. Would've been better off closing 6-7 yards and then making yourself big. (He would've rounded you, but that's a lower percentage play for him, with two guys on his back.)

3rd goal... Dude. Dude? Duuuuuude. Near post goals mean sit-ups, you know this. That was Charmin soft.

4th goal...Again with the footwork. You just weren't set... You should have been able to tip that... We will have tip drills until you are very annoyed at the next contact practice.
