Will Washington College or Haverford be this year's Williams? Both currently sit 1-0-5.

I don't think either team will make it to the NCAA finals, but if the Centennial Conference continues to go like it did on Saturday, there will be many more ties to come for both teams!

All these ties means the committee will once again place all the pool C emphasis on SOS instead of wins.  Wish OT would be brought back.

Speaking of ties, as I look at Hop's schedule, they are playing Stevenson tomorrow... They are 1-1-4. So who the heck knows where that game is going.

Please, and sorry to all those Stevenson fans (my son had friends who played there), if Hopkins can't win by 2 goals well . . . Then again soccer is a brutal, unforgiving sport.

Took Messiah 80 plus minutes to score against Dickinson and then it goes off and ties Salisbury. So maybe Hop should fear the Mustangs??!!

Close enough - Stevenson is in B'more County, Owings Mills (famous for the Raaavens training facility and HQ).  Might have to deemphasis "Charm" though.

Messiah with what was kind of an interesting result against E-town. Jays scored very early, Messiah knotted it before the half, McDonald 30 seconds into the second half. Falcons got another and were cruising (per recap) and then E-town scored on a rocket in the 85th minute. Mary Wash coming to Shoemaker on Saturday for an epic clash.

Meanwhile, the Widener Pride are 6-0(!!) and actually sit atop the MAC-C. Last year's breakout star Sean Fatiga put 4 points on the board with 2 Gs and an assist. Christian Doyle had been carrying the bulk of the offensive load and I'd been wondering if Fatiga had a knock or something... He sure broke free of that notion last night. Next up is an imminently winnable game against a floundering Misericordia team in Chester.

Centennial squads are mostly (all? I didn't go through everyone) playing OOC games. I suppose the F&M v. Kean game is the most intriguing tilt.

In 5... I have to say, Widener (I know I've been kind of jokingly annoying about them the last 2 seasons) probably deserves a higher spot.

Curious if paclassic has the RPI data to back up Massey, which has Widener as one of the higher seeded teams in the region behind Messiah and F&M. Scranton, IMO, is overrated at this point. And not just going by Massey, just overall take on their opponents and results.

Washington C broke out with a 1-0 win over Rowan which was a very good win by them.

As to the Etown game, many may have forgotten that Etown was a pretty formidable force nationally in the 80s and 90s (nat'l champs in 1989 and 14 straight NCAA appearances 83-96). Locally, they are never a pushover. All under their coach over the last 40 years. At least when they have played F&M, they play very, very hard and well.  There is a local trophy they play for each year and both teams compete hard to win.  F&M has beaten them pretty regularly recently, but only 1-0 the last three years.

The Kean-F&M should be a good test for both. Last year, F&M tied in the 88th or 89th minute despite many opportunities to score.  Also the game is relatively late with a 7:30 start time.

Well, I certainly don't undervalue E-town... One of the coolest away games we ever played was on their old field, with a very large crowd. I'm pretty sure we lost, but it was a good scrap and a great atmosphere. (As my handle will easily connote, I played them during their salad days.) I also had the pleasure of co-coaching with a guy that came through that program and he was a "solid as a rock" kind of dude. Just cemented my positive opinion of the program/school.

Absolutely, I did not think you were.  I was just trying to give some context (not to you) about the team Messiah was facing and why they might be having some success in their game.  Just like when SC is talking about Mount Union or PN about Kenyon.  I have no clue about those teams.

F&M coach played at Messiah and played against Etown back in the day while the current coach was there. So, so many connections in the Mid Atlantic that extend over the decades.

I wish we could just "like" posts here and move on. :-)

I had totally forgotten that LVC was moving to the Freedom Conference to balance the MAC after the departure of Wilkes and Lycoming.  So strange to see them ranked in Region IV with the Jersey schools and to not have them on Messiah's schedule.  I wonder if LVC will make it back onto Messiah's schedule as a regular non-conference opponent in future years like other nearby schools Dickinson, Gettysburg and E-town.
