Switching from VWU-HSC game to Roanoke-W&L.  Enjoying the VWU color commentary but the videographer is making me nauseous.  Roanoke's record is underwhelming, but they have some talent up the middle.  Thinking this could be a good game.  Might get distracted by Messimania with the US Open Final.

Messi not dressed. Roanoke W&L 1-1 on quick goals from Ramsey and Pleasants, two Raleigh natives.  Distraction averted and game on.

Great 2nd goal by W&L.  Good contest.  Traditionally, three big teams in the ODAC have been W&L, Lynchburg and Roanoke. Others have done well, but these three regularlly. Roanoke great coach, but having some troubles this year.  Definitely an up year for Lynchburg.

Fantastic save by Roanoke's keeper on PK.  Very very nice. Still 2-1 W&L

Brutal loss by W&L 3-2.  After the great PK save by Roanoke, they made the best of what they had and scored 2 nice goals. Announcers said that this was W&L's first conference home loss in 6 years. VWU lost also after being up 2-1 to Hampden Syndey.

In other news, F&M won 3-1 over Ursinus. Important win for their Centennial Conf. quest. Goals - PK early; bad play by keeper-good finish by F&M; and then another bullet free kick from Koa Kaliebe like last game but near post this time. Lots and lots of opportunities they were not able to capitalize on though.  Very nice free kick by Ursinus to make it 3-1. Not the best but got points in all three matches to go 1-0-2 going into away match against McDaniels on Saturday.

In even more suprising news - Cent. Conf. where all 10 teams played, NO TIES!

FYI this will be the second year 6 teams make the playoffs. Good and bad to certain extent. Bad 6 out of 10 make playoffs. Good 1st and 2nd seed get byes. Also good. 2nd seed guaranteed a home game. Good also day break between semis and finals. Don't think that was the case in 2021. Maybe bad. Finishing 1st may not mean as much.

Why is this kid not playing D1?

He was originally committed to Rutgers the summer after his senior year of high school. Not sure what happened to that as he enrolled at Montclair that fall.
