Koa ties it up late.

Biggest goal of his career.  One of the smallest out there with a very very nice header.

That feed to Oscar was really really nice. Oscar doesn't miss many of those.

Really entertaining match, pretty even as the score would suggest.  F&M had more of the ball, but CC looked composed when they had the ball including their goal.  Credit to both back lines as CC held Horowitz in check, while the left back #2 for F&M was locks.  Shame it has to be decided in PKs.

Definitely so. Brutal way to decide.  F&M definitely had the better chances, but obviously couldn't figure it out.

Koa Kaliebe and Oscar Horowitz plus their really good back Connor Anderko will be back for one more year.

That **** was epic. Unreal. Probably one of the wildest games in program history.

And Coach A and the Jays were highly displeased by a non-call that aided the OT goal.

Hope they use the emotion to pull out an upset tomorrow against the hosts.
Hoping you weren't watching on your wife cam for her sake.  You might have given her a heart attack!

I actually rewound that goal a couple of times as Hop #24 took a spill which live I assumed was from one of his teammates.  When I watched a second and third time I noticed the eventual Babson goal scorer actually knocked him off his stride.  Not sure it was enough to call the goal off but guessing that explains why they were hot.

Earlier tonight:

Me: You should have looked more closely at Hopkins.  They play the ball with a sense of purpose similar to your game.
Son:  Too bad my gene pool didn't provide me with a big enough brain.
Me:  That's funny, your grandfather went there for undergrad.
Son:  You mean I'm a legacy?  Let's go!
Me:  Yea, it doesn't work that way. [goes into the other room reciting the serenity prayer under my breath]

Not looking for sympathy, but I have had some challenges in my life.  Raised by divorced parents when divorce was definitely not a thing, several failed IVFs, and tragically losing a cousin/best friend at age 36.  Raising teenagers?  No sweat.

The bruises I have on my forehead from banging it on the wall these days are not pretty.

As a neutral watching the Babson-JHU game in person, here are my thoughts.  Hopkins tries to possess and they play a far more attractive game, but they were undone by some defensive breakdowns.  Babson seemed to run out of gas, and Hopkins stormed back to tie the game with two in the final 7 minutes, and frankly looked likely to end it in regulation.  Babson's striker is big and strong, and he was able to be effective in the box, scoring the first two goals for the Beavers on headers.  Babson's keeper played well, and he was the reason they even got the game to OT.  Credit to Hopkins for never giving up and continuing to play their game.  Should be a fantastic matchup today against Midd.

I grew up in A2, so I had MI on plus the Hop game on a side screen. After the MI ended, I watched most of the second all of OT on the jumbotron.

Hoping they aren't too emotionally wiped to give the hosts a good game this afternoon. Solo stove is standing ready for another round!

Unfortunately for your son (and my two kids), Hopkins eliminated legacy preference. It's a good thing for society, but it didn't make me happy when my kids were applying.

Spot-on assessment. Hopkins central defense has been an issue - their two starters at the beginning of the season have been hurt. One has returned but isn't playing full minutes. As a result, two very good midfielders are playing the center back positions. They are both excellent players but are not experienced in that position. Notably, when they were down at the end of the game and in OT, they pushed those midfielders up and played with less experienced players in the back. They scored two of the goals.

Same! Young Bucket is 17, a high school senior, and the highs and lows are something else!

Ditto, been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

Though find girls tougher, all emotion most of the time.

Hop, tough, tough, tough half. Maybe a hang over from yesterday? Could be 3-0 with a clear penalty not called.  Hey, they've done it before. Tons of soccer left.

Wash. College hanging tough 0-0 v. Kenyon.

Freddyfud

Have those games up side by side.  Kenyon's field looks huge, especially compared to Middlebury's.  Both teams seem to be taking advantage of all of the space.  Feels like it may come down to one mistake.
