I wish you Bbald twins could have been there!  What a game!!!!

The first half was a slugfest with the wonderful guys in stripes catching tons of criticism. But after the half it was UMW - UMW and MORE UMW!!

d-Mac, you said after the last meeting of these two teams that UMW was sending a message.

Tonight, they sent another one. Loud and clear!!!!!!

UMW is #1 in the CAC

Congratulations ladies!!! You know I love you all and I couldn't be prouder!  Smoochies ;)

Marymount received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Good for Marymount! They need a nice bracket and have to play at the top of their game and have some luck too to get very far but they're in and have the chance to go for it! Nice to see two CAC teams at the dance.  :)

bbald eagle

Nice to see the UMW hosts first two rounds and also that Marymount is in a different bracket.

bbald, mamadukes!!

Whats going on -- no info on the opponents?

Best of luck to Mary Wash and Marymount, you represent the CAC well

Have Fun Ladies

Thanks bbald. I'm still giddy from the CAC celebration ;D
I was a bit surprised that Bridgewater and UMW ended up in the same bracket. Thought the committee usually attempted to keep teams that had previously played each other apart. Geography must have been a deciding factor.
The last time Bridgewater and UMW met in the tournament, it was in a hotel lobby in Maine!  They both lost in the Sweet 16, so didn't play but it was interesting.
Glad to have a home round or two.   TCNJ has been to UMW before, so has Bridgewater. Baruch College is an unknown to me.  Time for research!
BTW, mwcsid. You did a wonderful job juggling two conference championship games and what looks like a couple of other spring events on campus over the weekend.  Nice ;)

Feb. 5 at Mary Washington, UMW 81-56 over Bridgewater. Bridgewater took the upset route through the ODAC tournament to win it and must be playing its best ball of the season now.

I believe they usually only do this for conference opponents.

D3 Hoops stopped a hair short of predicting a first round loss by UMW, calling Mary Wash "most likely to disappoint."

Its reasoning seems to be the strength of first round opponent Baruch's schedule: Baruch played Chicago, Kean, Desales, and Scranton on the road - it lost all those games with Scranton the smallest margin, a nine-point loss, and Kean a 23 point loss. Good road losses, I guess, is D3's view? Baruch's away record as it travels to UMW is 9-6. It beat Messiah at home in OT.

Congratulations to Coach Applebury,  Liz and to Ashton Mitchell, who breaks into the All Conference Teams this year.

The Eagles are preparing for a game. Not a walk in the park. This tournament will be won one game at a time. Last year I wonder if the "prognosticators" suspected they could get through the bracket with Scranton and Bowdoin. They did.

ANY of the 63 could win the title. But thanks for providing the bulletin board fodder.

Congratulations to all the honorees on the CAC team. You have all worked very hard and deserve the recognition.

Pat Coleman

If they need that kind of thing to motivate them then they are in bigger trouble than we thought. Surely they are plenty motivated on their own.
