Good to see the Ladies getting some ink.

Nice article in the Free Lance Star. Ashton has truly blossomed and it is nice to have her efforts be recognized.

Go Eagles!!!

WIN COSTLY FOR EAGLES COLLEGE BASKETBALL

http://www.fredericksburg.com/News/FLS/2008/032008/03082008/362094

"Eagles lost star forward Ashton Mitchell to a knee injury with 4:48 remaining. ... Both Ashton and Ashley Reed (concussion) will miss today's game and might be through for the season, according to Applebury."

It is a real shame that a college basketball team had to resort to "Street Ball" tactics to try and win a game. The coach, staff, and players of Baruch should face NCAA penalties for their vulgar display of basketball last night. Baruch coaches and players laughing while a player lay on the court with a head injury. We all understand basketball is a physical game but Baruch crossed the line last night. The officals should also be held accountable for letting the game get out of hand. I have been to hundreds of basketball games in my life at every level and this by far was the ugliest game I have ever seen. My thoughts and prayers are with the two young ladies who were assaulted last night.

UMW has a recent history of players stepping up when needed, not to mention how well coached they are.  The game will have an outcome, hopefully a favorable one.
Go Eagles.

Mitchell is a huge loss. Last year she was the strong back up at post. This year Mitchell and Hickey haven't had a true backup. Lisa Tracy stepped up big at tournament time last year and she probably will be asked to move to post now.

The Eagles are and always will be a TEAM.  They have each others back and beleve in each other.
As tough as the game was, I believe it helped prepare them for what is to come in the tournament.

Ashton and Ashley, you know we love you both and hope and pray for speedy recoveries.

Was following the game by live stats yesterday, what happened in the game, how did it become street ball? Were there flagrant fouls, poor sportsmanship?
