#24 Finally got back in the top 25. If (When) the eagles beat MM next week that should really move them up. This team is getting better and better every week. They are so young but doing well. Keep up the hard work "WASH" Wish the games would stop being cancelled $:-\$

true about the top 25,but all that matters is game on Feb.17th. I wonder if marymount will show up this time? The last game was a battle this probably gonna be just the same. I think wash has great shot to beat them mm is overrated because of their coach.

Tie Breaker Format to determine seeding for CAC Championship Tournaments
1. League standing {won lost percentage or points—three for a win, one for a tie.}
2. Head to head competition
a. If one team of a three or more way tie is eliminated, recalculate the record among the remaining tied teams.
b. Record {or points} combined against all tied teams
3. Record {or points} against each conference team, {starting with the top team in the standings not involved in the tie
and moving down}
a. If one team of a three or more way tie is eliminated, recalculate the record among the remaining tied teams.
4. Coin Toss
a. If a tie still exists, the Commissioner or representiative will conduct a coin-toss procedure at the site of the event
that caused the tie (if possible), witnessed by coaches and other administrators (and game officials, if available).
b. If three or more teams are involved in the tie, the loser ("odd-man-out") of the first coin toss will be the lowest-seeded
among the tied teams.
c. The remaining tied teams will revert back to Step 2 (Head-to-head competition) of the CAC Tie Breaker Procedure

BIG Game tonight!!!! Eagles need to come with the focus of the last game. Really, no pressure as they are not exspected to win. MMT is #7 and UMW is #23. Should be a fun game to watch.

First it was the referees, then it was the coach and now its D3 hoops poll all setting up the big no pressure for Mary Wash upset scenario.
AHem! The key rankings that really count are the NCAA Regional rankings that have Mary Wash AHEAD of Mmount. D3 hoops is not the ranking that matters. So it seems that there is pressure on MWash if it wants to keep its tournament related regional ranking. if Mmount wins that is the upset!

rorurap - sure the D3hoops.com ranking doesn't matter when it comes to the NCAA Tournament... but anyone will tell you it will probably be an upset of UMW can beat MMT twice in one season, the second game being at MMT.

And by the way, the only reason UMW is ahead of MMT... the head-to-head win UMW has... so let's call this a draw until the end of tonight.

first it was the refs? Mary wash opened the first game with a 20-0 run. Why would anyone blame refs after that? I mean usually it's losing teams that blame officials, maybe I'm wrong, because I missed the message about the refs. So not sure who or why anyone is talking about the refs.Also I mentioned the coach and meant marymount gets respect because of their coach. I didn't mean over-rated I meant respected. Marymount is clearly the better team.

Each team looked nervous or tight in the other's gym. Marymount has the edge in experience; it's a top 20 team. Mary Washington is younger and has greater upside potential. Flirting with the top 25 is probably about right for it. Whichever makes the NCAAs will need to lose the nervousness. Hopefully both teams will get in.

Whatever way you look at it, this has become one of the better rivalries in D3. Until Coach Applebury came along, MM owned the conference. Now it is an ongoing battle - much more fun for those of us who don't have a dog in the fight!!
Two outstanding coaches, two outstanding programs! Great team balance, great fundamentals, high quality basketball.
What you really need is more folks posting on this board!

This game has always been an exciting matchup! These two schools compete on the recruiting end as well, so it's always an interesting game.
If the weather holds, we should end the regular season and it's on to the tournament and as we've seen in the past, it 's anybody's guess as to who will win it all.

Well UMW could not get the upset. MMT played well and came out on top. Both teams played some of the best defense I have seen but MMT was making their shots and UMW was not. First game the post players really showed up and this game they did not (on offense) they did a great job on defense but were 2-19 shooting. Only 4 points will not get it done Vs MMT.

2 more games and a coin flip (maybe) to see who is the top seed. Would love to have the home court in the championship. The tournament is going to be fun!!!!
