Does this mean that CNU will take over the top spot?!?!  If so, I think it would be the first time in school history....

My guess would be that Hope would remain at #1 and Trine would jump to #2, but I'm not a voter either. Just my guess.

Lots of valid debate on the boards recently about the pros and cons of Massey, but fwiw after last night's games Massey still has Hope rated #1 by a wide margin, Trine at #2 also by a pretty wide margin and CNU at #3 leading a fairly tightly packed group below

4.77     Hope
3.94     Trine
3.50     CNU
3.47     UWW
3.33     Simpson
3.27     NYU

It'd be nice to be #1 ranking but rematch games against Mary Wash & Salisbury (AT HOME) plus Santa Clara and Wheaton will be good tests on this team.
Both Mary Wash and Salisbury were really ugly games by CNU.  But they were dealing with alot of COVID related issues week before...... and CNU does NOT lose at home.

Travelling across country for conference tourney is no easy feat either.  time zone changes on athletes can really bother them especially when this CNU team has never traveled so far for games.

I am not in any way calling for an upset, but Finlandia could give them a good game considering the travel involved for CNU. Finlandia has a win at UW-Stout who is currently 35th on Massey and they played UW-Oshkosh fairly tight.

I don't think CNU will jump to #1.  All 25 #1 votes went to Hope in last poll. I can't see all 25 (or enough of the 25) changing their minds in favor of CNU. I think CNU will get some #1 votes and Trine may get some of those #1 votes as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see Trine jump ahead of the Captains.

I thought they had a shot, but wasn't sure myself...overall, I don't think this team is as talented as some of the former teams that received high rankings, but we'll see what happens...a couple of tough games ahead.

Probably not, either, but what I was pondering yesterday as I was casting my ballot (one of the three still voting for Hope) is that D-III has changed quite a bit since the last time we crowned a champ. St. Thomas had been on my ballot probably hundreds of times, Thomas More the same. The division is not as strong without them and gotta figure most schools are at least two spots higher than they would be ranked otherwise.

Add in that Amherst seems decidedly not as good as in the past, and Wash U has been mortal for a few years, and ... and ... it's no longer as easy to vote in the Division III women's basketball Top 25.

I see where you're coming from, Pat...good point...and, I'm sure everything involved in attempting to vote responsibly is a chore, at least at times.

Next weekend Mary Wash hosting C2C "pre"-conference tourney games.  CNU vs Santa Cruz should be good game and toughest game left b4 C2C tourney at USC.  CNU just struggles at Mary Wash court for some reason.  IMO, Santa Cruz is #2 in C2C.

Swish3

Yep, the game against UC Santa Cruz should be interesting...they're receiving votes for the Top 25 and Massey has them ranked 31st.

CNU85

and UC-SC just landed someone on the Team of The Week.

VT-Alum-NOVA

I will be at both games this weekend.
UC Santa Cruz beat Whitman, so they have a good team.  Problem for them is traveling so far for the games.  But CNU will have that problem for C2C tournament.
