OK all you CAC Fans, any predictions?  ;D

Here's my preseason prediction

   1. Mary Washington
With 4 returning starters, including All-Americans Debbie Bruen and Liz Hickey, and a strong experienced bench, UMW has to be the preseason favorite.
   2. York
I'm out on a limb here, but with Kristen Daly and Keli Ward, the rookies of the year the last two seasons, it's time for York to make its move (not just to a new gym).
   3. (T) Catholic
CUA will leave the CAC without ever winning a championship.
   3. (T) Marymount
The loss of Randi Jones to graduation and Carolyn Riley to Eastern Mennonite means MU lost its two top scorers. Coach Finney will do his best to overcome that, but it's too much to lose.
   5. Salisbury
Salisbury will play tough and threaten everyone above them but never quite make it over the hump.
   6. St. Mary's
St. Mary's will pull off an upset or two, but not enough of them.
   7. Goucher
Goucher will leave the CAC very quietly.
   8. Gallaudet

There are many hotels in the area, but 5 miles away at the key bridge in arlington, a short walk to Georgetown, there is a marriott and a hyatt that are convenient.

I'd have to agree with Balder on this one. I like York and think they will be tough but I give the edge to Catholic. I don't think Gallaudet will tie with anyone. Marymount may take a while to get in sync but they will be tough come playoff time. One week to the start of the season. :)

YO ichouse let us know how the breakfast is,  keeping in mind a lot of folks get indigestion when playing at Marymount   :o   Enjoy your stay and the games!

An ODAC Fan's take on the Marymount Scrimmage

Quote from: valleybballfan on November 11, 2006, 04:49:08 PM
Bridgewater scrimmaged Marymount today and looked very good against a good program. Marymount has won 10 of the last 15 CAC championships, was a final four team in 2002, elite eight in 2004, and seven other times they have been sweet 16 teams. This year they are not ranked but they are receiving votes for the top 25. Bridgewater won 2 of the 3 halves, and the one half they lost they did not use their starters very much, but still only lost by a couple of points. I can not remember all the details, but I know they looked good and had some goodlooking freshmen.

Santiago

  1. Mary Washington (they are not stopping until they have a national title...they have grown since bruen and deana appeared in fredericksburg and I don't think deana will allow senior bruen to leave without a strong showing.)
  2. Marymount (just thought I would mix it up...you don't have the amount of success of marymount has had over the last 15 years based on a couple of players coming and going...that kind of success is built on good coaching)
  3. Catholic
  4. York
  5. St. Mary's
  6. Salisbury
  7. (T)Goucher
  8. (T)Gallaudet
