With the regular season winding down, anyones thoughts on the CAC Tournament?

UMW, Marymount, and York should all win easily in the first round.  ;)  The 4/5 match should be Catholic/Salisbury which looks like a tossup.  ???

York and UMW in the final...I do not see York getting beat three times this year by marymount.  UMW will beat York in the final.  I'm going to go with salisbury over catholic in the first round

Those sound like good choices if everyone is healthy which may not be the case especially for UMW.

In the first round, CUA/Salisbury is the tough call. They will probably both end up 7-7 unless Catholic beats UMW this Saturday which is not likely. If 7-7, CUA website says Salisbury gets the tiebreaker and hosts. If Catholic beats UMW, CUA probably ends up 8-6 and hosts first round. During the season, though, they lost the home game of the pairing and won on the road. I'd give the edge to CUA over Salisbury, but not by much, on a neutral floor. I think the home team will win in the tournament in light of the extra excitement, so Salibury is a good choice.

Never under estimate Coach Finney and his Marymount Saints

Will they reschedule the senior night game?  The weather looks like it may impede on the game. :'(
Bruen has been one of those few players that a coach can build a team around.  She has been an inspirational leader on and off the court for the past four years and it would only be fitting for her to receive a well deserved farewell in the last regular season CAC game to ever played in Goolrick Gymnasium.

UMW has cancelled daytime classes but will make a decision later on whether evening classes are cancelled too. The temperature is supposed to get up almost to 40. I'd guess the game will be played tonight unless the road from St. Mary's is a factor.

No decision yet, I'll let you guys know when something is decided.

Decision made...
GAME ON. See you all at Goolrick at 6 pm.

Unlike Mary Washington, York and Hood will move Wednesday's game to Thursday night at 6:00. It's pretty bad up here with the ice so I think this is a good decision.

result from field house..

catholic beat gallaudet 74-40.

A bit of a suprise that Salisbury beat Marymount tonight, 75-66. Looks like Salisbury will be hosting the 4/5 game.

Good to see Debbie Bruen back on the court for senior night for UMW, winners 72-43 over St. Mary's. But Sarah Flanagan went down early in the game with an injury.  :-[

Eaglescout

any news on how serious flanagan's injury is?

Today's Fredericksburg paper has an article on the game that also deals with your question

" Despite the injury to her left knee, Flanagan managed to put some weight on her leg while using crutches to leave the gymnasium both at halftime and at game's end.

'It's too early to tell. We'll have to get it looked at,' coach Deena Applebury responded when asked the possibility if Flanagan would be sidelined for any length of time."

There's more about the game and about Flanagan's injury -

It's possible

"The Spartans have now lost 12 straight games against the Saints including a pair this season."
