THANK YOU mwcsid  ;D

Balder Eagle

It is terribly quiet here, pre-game jitters or pre-game warm ups>? ;D

I want to wish Mary Washington luck today.  Take out Christopher Newport today.  I think Mary Washinton's key to winning is stopping #5 from scoring of CNU, if she gets out Mary Washinton is in a world of trouble.  CNU has some solid post players so be aggressive and crash the boards hard.  You should be victorious.

UMW will settle in after the "first round excitement" and hopefully come away victorious today. Congrats to all teams who survived the first round.
The Eagle will soar!!!!!!

Wow gotta love it when a fell USA South fan cheers for the opposing team. Hate to say PrideSportsbballGuy, my opinion on you just dropped.

Well, I don't like CNU. I may have said that already before. There are many reasons why, but won't get into on CAC.

"Take out Christopher Newport today."  I honestly think CNU will win today. If #5 really gets on roll  She can shoot the ball Mary Washington is in a world of trouble CNU is peaking at the right time. So Good Luck to both teams.

Plus you have to realize this Rikki_Tikki I have some close ties with teams in CAC.  personally know a couple of people at Mary Washinton and know a player on a team that gave Mary Washington their only conference loss this year.

Hey, thanks!
You'll notice the broadcasts are coming from Prestosports' server, not ours. Funny how a server change can work it out. :-)

UMW only allowed eight field goals last night... I am guessing that may be a women's d3 tournament game record, but can't find anything on the NCAA site.

Stop #5? box score last night doesn't include a #5 for CNU!?

ah yes.  I believe that she might have a different jersey number on the road, if you go on the cnu website and take a look there.  Then take a look at her statistics in some of the games she had.  She can put up some numbers if she gets hot.

Balder Eagle-
Did you miss the part where I said "Take out Christopher Newport."  I said if you can't stop #5 then Mary Washinton will probably lose today.  I am backing Mary Washington up, today. Don't get defensive please.  #5 Hope --in the country lost to 8 votes Denison --in the country It's tournament time!! Anything can happen.

I wish, but I am here in NC :'( (Actually tommorow afternoon though, I will be driving past Fredricksburg.)  I will be rooting for UMW with my live stats tonight. :)

This game reminds of the a shirt, I had a long time ago.  "I root for two teams the Orioles, and whoever is playing the Yankees."
:D ;D

Fill those team names with Greenboro, and CNU though.

#8 UMW Women's Basketball Tops Christopher Newport, 77-61; Advances to Sweet 16 for Second Straight Year

FREDERICKSBURG, VA - Senior forward Debbie Bruen scored a game-high 20 points and hauled in seven rebounds to lead the University of Mary Washington women's basketball team to a 77-61 win over Christopher Newport University on Saturday night at Goolrick Gytmnasium. The Eagles, winners of 24 straight games, will advance to the sectional semifinals on Friday, and will play against the University of Scranton at a time and location to be announced.
On Saturday, the Eagles took command early, making an 11-0 run early to lead, 19-6, with 11:26 remaining in the first half. UMW would lead by as many as 22 points in the first half, and led by 20 at intermission, 38-18. Junior point guard Amanda Bates was an early catalyst for the Eagles, with six first half points, as was sophomore forward Ashton Mitchell, who netted eight points and had two blocked shots in the opening frame.
The second half saw a back-and-forth game, in which neither team's lead strayed for more than six points from the halftime margin of 20. Bruen scored 15 of her 20 points in the second half, including back-to-back three pointers to open the period. Junior center Liz Hickey added 12 points, including 10 after intermission, and junior Lisa Tracy added 14 points for the Eagles as well. Leigh Kampman led UMW with eight rebounds to go with her six points, and Mitchell and Katy Larson each scored eight off the Eagle bench. UMW held CNU's starters to 30 points in the game, and caused 18 turnovers.
CNU was led by Shantel Burwell's 13 points, and Nikki Rowland and Alicia Bessey added 10 apiece for CNU.
The Eagles (28-2) advance to the sectional semifinals for the second straight season, as the Eagles will face the University of Scranton, who is currently ranked third in the nation in the D3Hoops.com national poll, on Friday. The location and time has yet to be announced by the NCAA.
