the loss to UMW knocked Marymount out of D3's top 25 but I bet MMT is back in there next week

mamadukes

The next few games may change things for the conference tournament, but I believe Galludet is out for sure.

With the records as they are, the tournament should line up:

Game 1: #8 Hood at #1 UMW
Game 2: #7 Villa Julie at #2 Marymount
Game 3: #6 Salisbury at #3 St. Mary's
Game 4: #5 Wesley at #4 York

Seems to be a logjam at 4, 5 & 6 so the final two games of regular season might change some things.
I'm looking for Salisbury to make some noise in their last two games and York to go out swinging.

Predictions?  Projections?

Personal opinion, I though that being ranked in the Top 25 was a bit high for MMT. And just because they win this week doesn't mean the voters are going to forget about how UMW cleaned the floor with the Saints.

you may be right. but Marymount's the first team out of the top 25 and well poised to return if those near the bottom of the top 25 lose this week.

Kudos to UMW's Liz Hickey, #1 career shot blocker  :D

the outcome of next Saturday's CAC games is irrelevant to CAC postseason pairings. all slots are locked in already

York 74-61 over Marymount. So much for the Saints climbing back into the Top 25.

You were right bbald!  Do they stil have a chance with a Pool B bid? Per Pat's instructions, I am listening and reading and learning about the current A,B,C bid process.
Anyhow, today is the day Round #2 starts. Is it possible to watch a live game, and two others on LiveStats?
Predictions anyone?
Let the games begin!!

No Pool B invites for anyone in CAC. Pool B is for teams not in a conference with an automatic bid & CAC has an auto. Pool C is the option for any CAC team that doesn't win the tournament. UMW is probably a lock for a Pool C bid if it doesn't win the tournament. I'd think regional rankings would give Marymount a good shot at one too if it doesn't win the tournament.

balder - your picking St Mary over both Salisbury and Marymount to make the final? pretty bold. if your scenario happens, UMW by 30.

mama,
the real question is can one announce and keep stats at one game and watch live stats of two others. And be on the cel with the fourth game. We shall see!!!

IF St. Mary's and UMW meet on Saturday???? Let's see what happens tonight. I do think that this tournament won't be a  cakewalk for anybody.  These girls have to be "on point" for each game. We've seen what taking a team lightly can do in the CAC.
I've been at this long enough to only speak to the game in front of us, but I do agree with Balder Eagle.
My bad on the Pool B. Pat would be disappointed, I didn't learn enough. Actually I forgot. Pool C is for everyone after A & B get picked.
And to answer your question, MWCSID. If anybody can do it.....you can ;D

Game 3 - St. Mary's wins. I go with the higher seed in all 4 first round games. Dull choices I guess.

Saturday - Marymount at Mary Washington. That means I have the higher seed win in every game in the tournament. There probably will be an upset but I don't see where. You have St Mary beating Marymount at Marymount, I guess. Marymount has lost a couple lately so maybe you are right but you usually brag on Bill Finney.

I'm still wrong!  Pool B is for schools that don't get an automatic conference bid or who are independent. Pool C is for the A schools that don't win their tournament.
I think if Marymount loses early in the tournament, they are done.  Do the latest regional rankings come out tomorrow?

That's ok -- no worries. Division III doesn't make it easy for fans to understand, to be sure. :)
