Tough loss for the Lady Caps...I don't want to be overly critical of such a young team, who's probably overachieved, but the girls down low have to be better around the basket.  They missed a lot of close ones, again...just need to focus on Thursday now, which will likely be against Mary Wash...a tough semifinal, for sure!

GO LADY CAPS!

The Lady Captains drop 5 spots in the latest poll to #21, just in front of Mary Wash at #22...have to win Thursday for a shot at redemption on Saturday!

GO LADY CAPS!

Okay, Lady Captains, Mary Wash is coming to town with revenge on their mind...be intense, confident and take it to 'em!

GO LADY CAPS!

CNU85

I'm a bit perplexed Marymount is somewhat overlooked. They are behind CNU and UMW in both the top 25 poll (only receiving votes) and NCAA regional ranking. Yet they win the conference, swept CNU and split with UMW. This might serve them well in the tourney...a chip on their shoulder. I would be ticked!

Agreed, CNU85...although, I suspect Marymount will be in front of both CNU and Mary Wash in today's regional rankings.

First, they swept CNU and got swept by UMW... they didn't split with the Eagles. That would actually cause voters to be challenged. Great! They beat CNU twice! Crap! They lost to UMW twice! I can't get all three of these teams on my ballot! They also lost to down Stevenson and Messiah teams earlier this year (in back-to-back games).

By the way... they are getting 10 points in the D3hoops Top 25. They aren't being ignored. However, it is REALLY tough to crack the women's Top 25 year in and year out. The top is so good and doesn't tend to falter that to find new openings to get teams ranked is difficult. It isn't like the men, especially with so much parity there this year, where it seems like a revolving door most weeks.

They are getting respected. They have a legit argument to leap both CNU and UMW in the regional rankings this week. It's all good.

Good info. Thanks for correcting my mistake..... yeah everybody swept someone...crazy. A lot to do with matchups, I would assume. I was just basing things on what I see in games in person and then what I see in results and reports on line. And I agree, I think they  (UMW) will jump in the regional rankings. In my mind - they should be higher than CNU, based on my observations. What I do like about CNU is that we start 5 sophomores!

Thanks again! Good stuff!

New rankings are in - no changes for the Mid-Atlantic.

Plenty of changes! Marymount moved ahead of CNU and Moravian got ahead of Mary Washington!

And if memory serves, Muhlenberg moved ahead of Albright, but I can't confirm that off the top of my head.

Ha, I must have looked at in the time between when they changed the date at the top and the data.  It definitely said, "updated Feb 24," but had no changes below.

If the CNU women don't win the conference tournament, might they get an at large bid?  Their SOS is on the weak side...

Well, one advantage they have, if everything goes to seed, is that they'll likely be first team on the table.  It's always good to have the committee staring at them for a while.  The women's committee tends to put more of an emphasis on wins than SOS, so that also bodes well for them.  They're 2-2 against RRO, conceivably they'd be 3-3 if they lose in the championship game.  They're a good candidate for an at-large.

Thanks, Ryan, I hope you're right...what the heck, CNU should just go ahead and win the tournament so nobody has to worry about it! :)
